Wouldn't you rather have a coach think he could keep his job with 4 possibly 5 games left in the season or have him know his gone no matter what. If what there saying about cheeks is true ,wouldn't leading CDD on be the smart thing to do? Not saying it would be the right thing ,but I have yet seen anything from cheek done right so far.

honestly he is so bad at his job, and the next 4 opponents are very beatable, that I'd rather have Dooley just not care about coaching and less likely to call all of his time outs in the 3rd quarter.

No. I don't care for this sneakiness or under-the-table dealmaking or whatever people are claiming is going on with our super-secret-coaching search. Be a man, be a leader, and fire Dooley. It's better for the team to know that people are being forthright and that utter medicority is unacceptable at UT.

Could the team fall apart? Maybe. But that's assuming that Dooley's job security is a high priority for them. But then it could also give them a spark to play the last 4 games to send him out well, or to audition for the next staff, or whatever. There is no telling how these things could go. But I feel like honesty is the best policy here.

And even if it does fall apart, so what? There aren't any meaningful games left. There certainly aren't any streaks to keep alive.

My problem with Cheek is that he has 34 years he spent at the University of Florida. He has been at Tennessee since 2009. You can't tell me we don't have an alumni somewhere in the tens of thousands of Tennessee graduates that could effectively do a better job.

Don't you have a contract that you and your client need to be signing?

I am not at liberty to discuss any potential negotiations.

My client is currently under contract with ESPN and it's family of networks and quite happy to be a part of the Monday Night Football phenomenon.

That being said, Mr. Gruden is always looking to expand his horizons and discuss future options.
