I think my frustration at this point is how often CDD dumps on the players instead of taking any responsibility himself.

I can understand youthful ineptitude...not having enough depth...and even a talent gap...

But...to go an entire season and the head coach not tap his chest and say "this is on me..." ... or "despite the areas where we lack...this is on me..."

That bothers me.

Am I off on that?

To me he does a great job at pinpointing the areas of weakness, but the buck seems to stop with the players...not him or the coaching staff.

I'll put it like this.... my pro team is the Eagles.

Andy Reid blames himself after every loss.

.....and people are sick of hearing that too.

I agree with him placing the blame on everyone but himself. I think he is a great recruiter that finds the areas we are weak in, and attacks the positions by getting great players. That is all though.

I don't think you are head coach material unless you can take responsibility.

When a player doesn't perform...they get benched...

When a coach doesn't provide results...he doesn't get to stay...

I'm patient...huge Vol supporter...but just once I'd like to hear "this one's on me" from our head coach.

Because at the end of the day...it really does point back to him.

This +20. All the top coaches take responsibility because it's their team. We get the point that their young. OK!!!! What about the unpreparedness? What about the roster being on par with vandy and uk? What about consistant bad coaching?

He's too cerebral. He doesn't have the ability to translate from thinking into doing. Many people are like that. He takes all these notes on his pad all game long, then can't do anything with them. He's a nice guy-- I just don't think he's cut out to be a head coach in the SEC. We took a chance-- a sucker's bet, really. And now we'll have 5-6 lost years. Sucks to be us.

but, but, but, some of these guys have only started for about 2 years now, it can't be his fault, 2 year starters are inexperienced and young

What we're seeing is when there's a leadership collapse at the top.

People scramble...make decisions too fast...and the results are clear.

Perhaps it's even unfair to Dooley that he was put in this spot.

We need a stabilizer and a rebuilder. Is he the guy? Just not sure...

Looks like this happened again after the UK game...terrible leadership.

Stop throwing everyone under the bus and carry some weight.
