The real reason we didn't get Cobb was because Fulmer ignored him until very late in the process. UT tried to swoop in at the last minute (thinking Cobb would jump at the chance), instead Cobb basically told them to F__k off. Anyone with any knowledge of that recruitment knows this to be the truth.

Not sure on the timimg but Fulmer refused to pitch him as a QB. He was honest. What does he play in the NFL?

This is exactly right. He wanted to play QB and Fulmer told him his ticket to the NFL was receiver. Kentucky sold him the QB position and then made him a wide receiver. That's the true story.

Randall Cobb (not sure if he was a life-devotee or not, but he was right in our backyard)

Would not have been given the opportunity to play QB here and that was a deal breaker to him. Obviously playing WR has worked out for him but he wanted to play QB in college and UK gave him that opportunity.
