For all you Bray bashers

Biggest problem is that he had a chance to win versus UGA, Miss St, Mizzou, USCe and didn't come through. Good QBs have good stats, great QBs win games like that. NFL teams spend a low first round pick on a QB with good stats that wins those types of games with the ball in his hands. A pick that an NFL team might take a chance on later in the 2nd,3rd or 4th round is where Bray is at now. A lot of upside, but a lot of risk he can't take the pressure and exotic blitzes he will see in the NFL.

Yeah your argument just fell completely apart so you try to poke fun at the opposing opinions. Please stop posting until you have any significant info to post.

First of all, why should that blame fall on the offense when they put up 30+ points per game in SEC play?

Second of all, 5 times? You mean hitting Zach Rogers on 4th down and him dropping it? Getting hit from the blindside and fumbling vs South Carolina? Nothing he can do about that.

He failed vs Georgia, but again I'm not about to put blame on an offense that scores as much as ours.

I'm not aware of another 2 times..

Coming in to today, Tennessee is 26th in the nation in scoring. Only 1 team out of the 25 above us has a losing record, and that is Marshall.

Those teams above us include Alabama, Texas A&M, Oregon, Georgia, Nebraska, Kansas State, Clemson, Florida State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Ohio State just to name a few.

What do all of them have in common? Being ranked(well, OSU isn't ranked in the BCS due to the ban, but whatever, they're undefeated), winning teams. I wonder how we get stuck with Marshall in being the only team of those that aren't bowl eligible...Hmm, I know! I'll blame the offense for it! That makes sense!
Adding to this point, I would never call what Bray did in the "House" of a team that could very well be playing in the National Championship game a fail. He did everything and more that should EVER be asked of a QB. Then, frankly, the last pass that was credited as an interception WAS NOT. That would have given him one more play which, in that game, meant everything. Don't get me wrong. I am completely on board with what you said. I just think that you were "playing nice: about the UGA game.

This^^^

Although I count him giving up in the Florida game as #5

I just have a hard time putting any games except UGA and UF on Bray. Any QB would have fumbled that ball against USCe and Zro dropped the 4th down pass against Mizzou. Miss St is less of a stretch because he didn't have the greatest game but Devrin's fumble along with the dropped INT by Moore costs us our last shots.

I see this complaining and all and laugh as I watch Tajh Boyd throw incredible passes and lead his #11 Tigers against (and winning) against USC.

UT fans had absolutely zero control over CLK making the most ridiculous recruiting decision in modern times.

Hope his temperament is not measured on the wonderlick test. A lot of GMs put stock into that test as much as they do the skills in the combine. He could benefit from another year in the SEC.

The offense put up 30+ points in 9 games this season, which includes vs Georgia and South Carolina.

Blaming anyone on the offense, including Tyler, is foolish. They did everything they could to win this year. Not their fault our defense is the worst in UT history, and had one of the worst head coaches in the country.

If you go back and watch the fourth quarter of the SEC games, several of those could have been won had the offense picked up a couple of crucial first downs or had the O actually scored at crunch time. While I agree that the D was horrendous, the fact hat the O averaged a lot of points is misleading.

Pretty much what I am saying. He is a good QB, but what separates good from great is making the plays to win a couple of those games. He is a project in the NFL. I think he finally saw this year what he needs to do to play against the good defenses. I looked at this as his first year against the good SEC defenses. If we got a decent QB coach (Gruden or Cut) he could be a legit Heisman candidate and first rounder next year.

Brays problem is no longer a problem. When he tried to voice an opinion or be a leader he was underminded by his HC. To some degree I want to see what Chaney has with a different HC as well, despite the fact that I think he calls stupid plays but who knows what's said when they have the headsets on. Chaney can put up points, but my problem was the radical play calling on short yardage situations that often times changed the momentum of the game. As much hope that I had for this season, I for one know I became more of a fan and have high hopes and expectations for this program going forward.

What proof is there that he was undermined by his HC? A lot of games he was on the field yelling t his coaches.

Interesting comment by Chaney in the post game today. He said it was clear Bray would have a good game today because he was serious and focused. Chaney then made the comment that Bray was nowhere as serious last week-- the clear indication being that he was ready to play today, but he wasn't ready last week.

Bray threw SEVERAL away today that should have been easy completions. He isn't cool and calm, when he gets rushed he loses his brain. He still stares down receivers and doesn't check down. He has a cannon arm (sometimes) but he has no head. If he knew how to check down properly, there is no telling what kind of numbers he would have put up. I know we had a good year offensively, but he had the receiving core to get it done. I still hope he leaves, but sadly, he didn't play well enough to go to the NFL.

On top of having a cannon arm, Tyler is a very calm, cool, collective thinker. He realizes what he needs to do in terms of development to be a 1st round NFL pick and the enormity of cash involved. Nothing impressed me more about Tyler than the interview after Vandy. No excuses, props for Worley and owned up to not performing to his potential. I think Tyler will be back and he has Peyton as an example of how good he can be by staying.

Bray's problem is Bray. He chokes under pressure. Not sure where you see "very calm, cool, collective thinker".... because it sure wasn't in any game of significance UT played in this year.

He's got great physical tools. I hope the mental and emotional part come along. But he has yet to win a big game and has generally been a big part of each loss with mistakes or poor play overall.

So who gets the cred for having the highest scoring offense in the SEC at 37pts per game? Bray layed 44 on UGA and 20 on UF leading after 3 qtrs... both losses...with any kind of defense both wins for sure!

That is right. Nobody bother little tyler now. He is really sensitive. We want him to stay nice and happy so he can come back and throw for 400 yards and 5 td's against TSU next year.

So does your whining avi cover our failed defense? Being 13 in a dark basement doesn't last forever...hang in there.
