For all of you who keep sticking up for Dooley

RECRUIT WHAT?! look at our recruiting class so far. I realize that it's still early but none of these recruits have been high on Tennessee so far and after being on the field for this game I dunno why they would now.

You look for the coaches to motivate these players to FINNISH STRONG. To player 4 quarters and above all else... GET THE RIGHT SUBSTITUTION IN. Coach wilcox hasn't even shown me that he could call plays!!!

Yea your right. Recruiting has nothing to do with success in college football and a different coach would have this team ranked in the top ten. Lets just fire all the coaches and reset the whole program again and thats probably the right thing to do. Yea and that coach wilcox wasting all that fine defensive talent and depth we have. espeacially at dline. good god...grow up rudy.

No DD quiting wouldn't help anything. I hope DD and staff succeed. But at this point in the season, I have yet to see anything that would say, "hey, this is the right guy...". This is prob the first time in TN's history we're been in this sutuation. Every one is saying i've been watching TN for 50 or 60 yrs... Blah blah blah... Well i've only been watching for 24 yrs, and this unique set of circumstances that has played out over the last few years is why we are in the situation. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of progression throughout the season.

me to and ive been watching for 26 but with as many true freshman we are starting and on the two deep you have to give it a chance

Seems to me that recruiting deffinently helps. Look at the last several national champions... all had good recruiting classes.

In terms of Wilcox, you would think that he would call plays that could stop the offense from scoring 41 points. I mean it's not like he's done that at boise state with players who were three star coming out of high school against big time schools or anything like that.

At boise st. He could give up 41 and still win the gane with the high powered offense. I'll just say i'm dissapointed in all aspects of our team. And to those of you talking about recruiting, before you can get those good recruits, IMO, u first have to over achieve with lesser player in order to get those game changing recruits to consider your school.

Do you is that why bama jumped back up quick its all about fan suppourt and dedication to the school that matters. And you can go ahead and jump off the bandwagon because i can promise you UT doesn't need you

A better question....how can anyone know what he or this staff are capable of in 7 games with a roster like this? Sheese....let the man get a few recruiting classes to work with before he's branded a complete and utter failure.

Bama had a coach that ober achieved his second year there, now Bama is on every 5 star recruits short list. My first memory of UT football was when I was 4 years old, after we won the sugar bowl, and one of TN's players was swinging the towel over his head. I'll never stop cheering for UT, but we really sucks right now

Did any of you expect us to beat Oregon, Florida,LSU or Alabama given the situation we're in? We live in a world of instant gratification. We want everything now but we just can't. That's not how life works. Yes it's a bad time but we have to stick it out. No team stays on top forever and no team stays on bottom forever(except Vanderbilt) and we have to realize this is a growing process.

I'm going to post this as many times as I can on every thread concerning our football program...Look at the roster. We are depleated, thin, short on quality D-1 players. Think people, talent trumps coaching. Fulmer got away with it for a decade...

So was the last two coaching staffs that put ut in this position. Dooley can't fix this this year. You people keep seeing a glimmer of hope through 2 quarters. If he sucked as a coach, then how in the hell does he even have this team competing in the first half to only have you cry babies have their heart ripped out after the gas runs out of the tank in the third quarter.

Well said. Some in this thread don't ubderstand a) we need stability to turn this around, that by itself makes Dooley the guy and b) we've played good ball for a half. If we can get some more of his guys in here and follow the process, I see him getting us back to respectable. Can he win it all? Don't know.

Yes, because we are not in great position to finish off this class with:

Arnett
Richardson
Clear
Wright
Couch
Johnson
Paul
Pagan

This sums up what I wanted to say this entire thread...You people are in meltdown mode. Its not that WE SUCK its we have players and coaches for that matter that don't have enough experience to know if THEY suck or not

I'll give Derek Dooley until the end of next year. I think it's unfair to judge right now. If there isn't improvements by the end of next year, people will be getting real mad.

He needs 3 years, 2 years isn't enough to get us stable and moving in the right direction.

I know that, I just think if we don't get closer to winning games and win a few more games, or have a worst year. Then I think that Derek Dooley isn't doing his job.

Chiziks record was worse than CDD and he is doing just fine. Give CDD the chance to coach some talent before we burn him at the stake.

I meant in a sense that that target we were trying to get as our coach doesn't want another team to do well especially if they turned them down.

And yea I was hoping that Dooley had something unique about him that could pull out better games or something.
I'll say it yet again, Nick Saban, Lane Kiffin, Phil Fulmer, Urban Meyer, Vince Lombardi, Bear Bryant, Tom Landry, Chuck Noll, you, and me all have something in common. None of the above would have this team over .500. There's just not enough talent or depth there to get it done. This will probably be the worst year, next year will be some better and the next couple of years after that we'll see what Dooley is made of.

I can completely understand backing Dooley because he's our coach. But what makes anyone think that he's qualified for this job?

He was 17-20 at Louisiana Tech.

I understand that we have no depth, but there's no excuse for Bama to score in four plays in the beginning of the second half after the players have had a break.

He failed to motivate the team after the devastating LSU lose.

So far recruiting is crap and the only reason that we had a top ten recruiting class this past year was because half of the recruits were already enrolled

The whole substitution isn't the young player's fault the coaches need to be on top of it. There are 3-5 coaches on each side of the ball being paid well. THEY NEED TO BE ON TOP OF IT.

DOOLEY WASN'T EVEN OUR FIRST CHOICE!!!

I understand backing our coach and I understand that he was the only one who accepted the challenge. And before you all bash me for this but with everything with the depth problems, the lack of talent, and young players, answer me this... WHAT HAS DEREK DOOLEY DONE TO SHOW YOU THAT HE CAN BRING US BACK TO SUCCESS?

Give it time. When you understand football better you will See the problem Dooley faces for the next couple of years.

Ignorant fans want to blame Dooley for losing with the handful of upperclassmen that Fulmer left him and expect him to win every game. Real bright.
All teams have ignorant fans.
I was watching Texas fans booing their players and leaving early yesterday.

Some people just don't want to see the truth or admit that we are as low as we have ever been. What happen in the second half was that a national contender woke up and began taking advantage of our weakness. They are good, we are not. Can you image how our team feels when they hear crap like this from "their" fans.

You need to lighten up Francis. This old news.

Derek Dooley is our coach for a long time. You can either get behind him or you can be miserable.
