Not when you start as many freshman as ut has done on the o-line. Just face the facts. Dooley will have this team prepared to go two quarters with south Carolina. After halftime, the gas runs out. Rinse and repeat till you got senior leadership, some size on the defensive front, taller and faster corners, an o-line that has more juniors and seniors anchoring the line, and fans with patience.

Yeah we weren't competitive with Kiffin or anything. Four losses by 20 points total before the Ole Miss debacle following the Pilot debacle. Say what you want Kiffin found ways to get/keep these guys motivated. Maybe it was all his smack talking and arrogance but the players bought in. Like EB said, it makes you want to have your coaches back. Dooley has constantly said "we're not a very good football team right now", "we're tiny and thin in every position", and the Pope and Oku comments are uncalled for and unprofessional.

Its weird to think that there are people who actually believe that CDD (a man who hasnt been on the job a year) is the reason that Tennessee doesn't finish strong. Come on buddy. Pay attention through out the ENTIRE YEAR. I would be ashamed to even begin to place any blame for anything on this coaching staff.
How can you blame pretty muxh a whole new class with freshmen and redshirts on the new coach he did a good job getting what he could get and so far they look good doing what they do
"And yea I was hoping that Dooley had something unique about him that could pull out better games or something."
And what does the program have to work with? Like I said you were obviously expecting 10 WIN SEASON or something like that.
I can remember some really bad seasons with a whole lot more talent than we have right now. the first couple of years under Coach Majors. Or the 0 & 6 start in 1988.
The point is lets give the current staff time to do their jobs and not judge them on a season that isn't even over yet!
everyone has different opinions about what makes a team look good. And having 10 players on the field time and time again when there are supose to have 11, is a coaching error. And it is continuing to happen. what i'm saying is that DD and staff is not learning from their mistakes. They are not making good enough adjustment at the half

This thread as well as you anti-Dooley people should be deleted. Team played hard and was prepared to play. It was clear that the lack of depth and talent was the key tonight. Dooley and staff did everything they could to give the Vols a chance to succeed. If you don't have something legitimate to say then go play video games.
Because he's the big dog. He's responsible for these coaches to be on track. He's the one that made the hires he's the one that needs to get on them
and tell them what? Coach up those undersized outmanned players Fulmer left here? Look at our team on paper and look at bama on paper. They should have beat us by 80. We are old mother hubbard and there aint nothing in the cubbard. We have no players. Period. Deal with it. It sucks. I know. Time.Time.Time. not weeks. Recruit. then if no positives then start blaming coaches. Nobody would win with this team. Period. I love um to death, but for now we are just outmanned and outnumbered. No subs. Keep playing every down. They aint got a chance this year and alot of us knew this was going to be the case last year regardless of who the coach was. Our roster was doomed for this year.
so do you think dooley quiting would make it better. UT hasn't had a good coaching staff until now and we still aren't doing what they want to do which is a 3-4 so give them time its only their first year
no dd quiting wouldn't help anything. I hope dd and staff succeed. But at this point in the season, i have yet to see anything that would say, "hey, this is the right guy...". This is prob the first time in tn's history we're been in this sutuation. Every one is saying i've been watching tn for 50 or 60 yrs... Blah blah blah... Well i've only been watching for 24 yrs, and this unique set of circumstances that has played out over the last few years is why we are in the situation. The only thing that bothers me is the lack of progression throughout the season.
