This season has played out exactly as most predicted. I don't understand all the retard rage... It takes time to build back a burnt program.

There is no "right guy". The fact is that we have very little experienced talent. Players that are 5th year seniors or fourth year juniors...did they make an impact as a group??? NO. Blame Hamilton, blame Coach Fulmer.
Just my thoughts...

He was highly recommended by a huge target that didn't want the job, and he was a student under Saban, was an active coach and athletic director with a law degree that brought his school further than they had in many years. Remember he is the one that wanted the job when nobody else would touch it. You think a top coach at any program would come here under these problems and put up with idiots on computer boards second guessing everything they do?! He has the respect of his peers and that means more to me than what a truck driver with a computer thinks...no offense to truck drivers of course!

So far the only good thing that the law degree has done for Dooley is allow him to trick the fans into thinking he's worth something.

Of course he has the respect of his peers, NO COACH TALKS BAD ABOUT OTHER COACHES... cept kiffin but we all know he's a "special" case

Also think about what you said... he was recomended by a huge target... OF COURSE HE WAS RECOMENDED YOU REALLY THINK THAT THAT "TARGET" WANTED US TO DO WELL?!?!?!?!

I think we get blinded by optimism and forget that bad hires happen... go ask bama about Shula

Surely you don't honestly believe that any coaches look at these silly boards? The only purpose these boards serve is for impatient folks to vent their frustrations and to read about recruiting and other school news. Oh yeah, one other thing, to allow die hard fans to call bandwagon fans nasty names ... lol.

I don't think he actually believes that I think he just wants to take a shot at me for this post.

first post but look how many fresh we are playing and you will realize why we cant play a whole game like alabama or anyone that has beat us

every team in the country starts a few freshman. Main difference is when those freshman start, it's cause they beat out a upper classman. When we start a freshman, it's cause.... There isn't anyone else!!! At this point in the season i'm unsure about dooley, but hey at least we don't have the worst coach in the SEC.

Yea, blame Dooley... LOL

I blame the two head coaches that were actually responsible for the demise of UT football - Philip Fulmer and Lane Kiffin.

Yeah we weren't competitive with Kiffin or anything. Four losses by 20 points total before the Ole Miss debacle following the Pilot debacle. Say what you want Kiffin found ways to get/keep these guys motivated. Maybe it was all his smack talking and arrogance but the players bought in. Like EB said, it makes you want to have your coaches back. Dooley has constantly said "we're not a very good football team right now", "we're tiny and thin in every position", and the Pope and Oku comments are uncalled for and unprofessional.

This!!!!! I just don't get their rational. Not one coach wanted this job because the shape this program is in and we got idiots that come here with their same old tried story. CDD is in his seventh game playing against national contenders with a bunch of high school kids and all some of you can do is pile it on some more!!

Going back to what I put down on this thread to begin with, that's pretty good justification that he isn't... I dunno...

He maybe learning on the job....coaching against sec talent and staffs, he was left with very little experience. Look at all the time that underclassmen are getting. This is not his fault.

Everyone wants to put the blame on one thing and say it's Fulmer, Kiffin, Hamilton, Dooley etc. The truth is that where we are is a amalgamation of a bunch of different things that took place over the last few years. The only thing to do now is get some stability and look to the future.

Is Dooley the right guy? I don't know but, with the constant upheaval and turmoil we have experienced lately any stability is good for the future of the program.

It might be the reason nothing ever came of Bar Knox.

Most people see what they want to see. It is obvious which direction you want this team to go.

At least Dooley doesn't rest on his fathers reputation.

"Of course he has the respect of his peers, NO COACH TALKS BAD ABOUT OTHER COACHES... cept kiffin but we all know he's a "special" case"

Kiffin is a P@##&. Why don't you see what Saban has to say about Dooley.

"Also think about what you said... he was recomended by a huge target... OF COURSE HE WAS RECOMENDED YOU REALLY THINK THAT THAT "TARGET" WANTED US TO DO WELL?!?!?!?!"

Huh?

"I think we get blinded by optimism and forget that bad hires happen... go ask bama about Shula"

Look at what the program was left with. I will be honest I wasn't expecting much this season. It is apparent that you were!

I meant in a sense that that target we were trying to get as our coach doesn't want another team to do well especially if they turned them down.

And yea I was hoping that Dooley had something unique about him that could pull out better games or something.

of course it's not by choice. As I said there isn't anyone else. How can you not blame the substitutuon woes on coaching? Who teaches the young players to get on and off the field, and which package they should be in on? The coaches, noone else.

Dooley is a joke!

So was the last two coaching staffs that put ut in this position. Dooley can't fix this this year. You people keep seeing a glimmer of hope through 2 quarters. If he sucked as a coach, then how in the hell does he even have this team competing in the first half to only have you cry babies have their heart ripped out after the gas runs out of the tank in the third quarter.

How can you blame pretty muxh a whole new class with freshmen and redshirts on the new coach he did a good job getting what he could get and so far they look good doing what they do

Not when you start as many freshman as ut has done on the o-line. Just face the facts. Dooley will have this team prepared to go two quarters with south Carolina. After halftime, the gas runs out. Rinse and repeat till you got senior leadership, some size on the defensive front, taller and faster corners, an o-line that has more juniors and seniors anchoring the line, and fans with patience.
