I can completely understand backing Dooley because he's our coach. But what makes anyone think that he's qualified for this job?

He was 17-20 at Louisiana Tech.

I understand that we have no depth, but there's no excuse for Bama to score in four plays in the beginning of the second half after the players have had a break.

He failed to motivate the team after the devastating LSU lose.

So far recruiting is crap and the only reason that we had a top ten recruiting class this past year was because half of the recruits were already enrolled

The whole substitution isn't the young player's fault the coaches need to be on top of it. There are 3-5 coaches on each side of the ball being paid well. THEY NEED TO BE ON TOP OF IT.

DOOLEY WASN'T EVEN OUR FIRST CHOICE!!!

I understand backing our coach and I understand that he was the only one who accepted the challenge. And before you all bash me for this but with everything with the depth problems, the lack of talent, and young players, answer me this... WHAT HAS DEREK DOOLEY DONE TO SHOW YOU THAT HE CAN BRING US BACK TO SUCCESS?

PS. EVEN THOUGH I'M BASHING DOOLEY I'M NOT SAYING THAT OUR TROUBLES ARE HIS FAULT. I did expect a .500 season or less. I'm just trying to see the positives of this guy and understand why HE'S THE RIGHT GUY

Lol.

If Dooley isn't the answer we're going to be in a world of hurt.

Most teams dont get their first choice. Didnt read any more. Getting torqued in the third sux though. Hopefully Bray starts from now on.

Ignorant fans want to blame Dooley for losing with the handful of upperclassmen that Fulmer left him and expect him to win every game. Real bright.

I dunno maybe I'm just so disapointed... I just keep watching throughout the season and the more I watch our team and coaches the more I try to look for a reason to root for our coach but i can never find one...

Patience..patience..patience.....even before Kiffin left he said this year was gonna be worse than last year. Kiffin knew how thin we were gonna be.

There's no reason why he shouldn't have all these freshman he is having to play ranked at least 5 or 6 in the BCS.

Well answer the question? What makes you think Dooley's the right guy?

Nothing, but some of us are at least going to give him the opportunity to show something as opposed to running him out of town halfway into the season.

Yea, blame Dooley... LOL

I blame the two head coaches that were actually responsible for the demise of UT football - Philip Fulmer and Lane Kiffin.

I'm still giving him two more years before I call this hire a bust though. I like his pedigree, most of the coaching staff looks good on paper, and I think he is very intelligent football-wise and otherwise. He has shown some great spurts of success in recruiting. This year's class is looking great as far as filling in some of our weaknesses. We shall see I guess.

I agree. I will support him and never cheer against him, but we are never winning 10 games with this staff. We wish this was Mike Shula or Ron Zook...

well, hamilton doesnt call the plays, come up with defensive schemes. decides who plays where and when, or motivates the players! thats the coaching staff. now im not bashing them, but i havent been to impressed with what iv'e seen so far and the lack of improvement from the on field performance

He was highly recommended by a huge target that didn't want the job, and he was a student under Saban, was an active coach and athletic director with a law degree that brought his school further than they had in many years. Remember he is the one that wanted the job when nobody else would touch it. You think a top coach at any program would come here under these problems and put up with idiots on computer boards second guessing everything they do?! He has the respect of his peers and that means more to me than what a truck driver with a computer thinks...no offense to truck drivers of course!

Yeah it isn't like he hired the guy you're not too impressed with. Not his fault at all.
