For All of the 9-10 Wins is Good Enough Folks

9-10 reg season wins is about an 8% increase over UT's historical win %. 10 wins gets us in the SEC CG this year. You are delusional.

This X 1000..Folks just can't see progress when instant gratification is the norm..Steady improvement isn't enough for the "Let's get another coach" crowd..It sure wasn't loaded with coaches, ANY coaches, who wanted the HC job when CBJ came on board..But don't let facts get in the way of another "UT is awful because" thread..JMHO

That is all...Carry on....

If we keep Botch for long term, the end will be Dooleyesque.

There has been no progress from week 1 to now.

Well winning 9 to 10 games every year, starts a process where everyone expects this as well as winning out becomes more realistic in the sec. It usually means that you have more talented players than most. Remember it's a team sport and the team may not accept you no matter your pedigree.

For all those claiming Fulmer only averaged 9 wins...look at the competition level of the SEC east then vs now. Also we played 3 West teams every year...not just 2.

This. Even with Zook, Florida was better than any Florida team since Urban. Same with Georgia. Also, the 3 west games were huge as there would be 2 years in a row where we would have LSU and Bama games.

Very seldom does a team do what Alabama is doing over this last stretch. If you think TN or any other team can and should do that all the time...you need to goahead and stop watching football LOL

If by seldom, you mean never, this has never been seen before

10 wins with no division title is not a very good season, as said by our Coach. Butch has said for the past two years that year 4 would be the one where he would have the team playing championship football... This season has been a failure by the Head Coach's own words.

How about SCAR in 2013? Ended the season ranked #4 but had no division title. We got some bad breaks this year, the worst being our schedule of playing overall #1 and #4 as our SEC West opponents. If we played MSU and Arkansas we are probably sitting undefeated right now.

How would playing MSU and Arky this year instead of Alabama and A&M, have had any impact on how we played against USCe?

We couldn't put away our weak OOC opponents of App State and Ohio convincingly, what makes you think that we would have railroaded Miss State or Arky, even as poor as they have played this year?

People act like us loosing to USCe was a fluke, when in reality it's what happens when you play bad football, and don't have the breaks go your way. We've played bad football in every game this year, and we've been lucky to get the majority of the breaks and pull off wins.

And look at how down Bama was compared to today...Fulmer is eternally grateful to Ray Goff and Mike DeBose, Mike Shula, etc...it goes both ways...overall, the SEC is tougher now than it was during Fulmer's tenure...the SEC got tougher and Fulmer stayed the same...so he got canned...

Those 2 games took a huge toll on this team, physically and mentally. Bama broke their spirit, same way as our Hail Mary broke UGA's spirit. I don't think MSU breaks us the same way as Bama did. I guess it's kinda ironic that the 2 teams we did put away are the 2 ranked teams.

The 2012 Vols easily could have won 9 games if they caught breaks--but they ended up 5-7. Are you going to tell me that was a good team, headed in the right direction?

Did the coaching staff have things under control when Vandy spanked them 41-18?

Even if win 9-10 games this year, all is not well and on the right track.

Good O-line, good arm beer bottle throwing qb, and horrible def coordinator, had Willcox been there maybe 9 wins

So how do the Alabama and A&M games explain the struggle against App State and Ohio? Did they preemptively have their spirit broken at the start of the season, just because they knew that they had to play Alabama and A&M?

Team 120 hasn't played up to the experience or talent level of the personnel for 4 quarters in any game this season; well-coached teams don't struggle every game.

The SEC west team named Alabama is the only SEC team better and stronger than it was in Fulmer's day. EVERY other team, including Tennessee is DOWN.

Kentucky and Vandy don't count because they are irrelevant. (Sad we are worried about them).
