UGA fans felt what it was like to acknowledge in their own hearts that we had beaten them. A missed FG pulled them back out of the abyss -- a FG our kicker makes 9 times out of 10.

All the same, for a few minutes, they were forced to think about how they were going to move forward with a loss to Tennessee.

Next time, we'll make sure to seal the deal.

Doesn’t make it any better. They still know Kirby owns Heupel and will probably retire with a winning record over him.

True, I’ll absolutely admit that I was all but sure we were beaten. Honestly, we should have been, but that’s football. Both of our teams played well enough to win. Sometimes it just comes down to the little things or just sheer luck. I won’t apologize for it, that’s just football, but I’ll admit that TN didn’t deserve to lose this game. I do believe that our teams are as close as they’ve been for some time. Who knows what will happen if we are lucky enough to meet each other again in the Playoff. Gonna be epic!!!

Extremely good game Vols!!! Much Respect!!!

Never apologize for winning. It was a great game.

Our team played well enough to have the Win in the bag during the final minute of the game. But they fuzzed and allowed Georgia to take the Win away from them. We have a very good coaching staff and players, but great coaches and players do not lose their grip when they are in control of the outcome in the final minute. That should never happen, but it did. Our team had the game won, but they started making mistakes and lost. That is a bad way to lose, and I feel worse about this loss than any game I can remember.

Ummm, maybe but the fact is CJH is winless against GA and will probably be for the foreseeable future. This was His best opportunity at home and he squandered it by going conservative/scared, esp after the fumble by GA. I thought only Butch Jones could snatch defeat from the jaws of victory with such skill. This was an epic fail anyway you look at it. We can all point to positives but the bottom line- we lost another game we should have won, regardless if we were supposed to win. Our freshmen CB TR, a good player (a top 50 CB in the country) not offered by GA was burned all night. Until CJH places an emphasis on elite defensive players (esp in the secondary, like Kirby has done it’s going to be more of the same-good but never great). Go back and look at GAs last 7-8 recruiting classes, 2-3 top players (in the country or their position) on defense almost every year. Elite CBs, elite safeties…. Who was the last Elite CB or Safety TN signed? I cannot think of 1 5 star under CJH but can think of several for GA. Our Pass defense ranks like 88th nationally but our DC is top 2-3 paid in the country…doesn’t add up. We made Stockton look like a heisman front runner tonight. I really like how CJH made us competitive again, good but not great. You have to win these types of games to get over the hump. We’ve had some good wins & bowl wins under CJH but no championships. Maybe next year or the year after but we need some elite playmakers (requires elite recruiting & coaching, esp in the secondary.

We had 4th and 6th with a few mins left to end the game…We give up a long TD. We looked lost on the 2 point conversion needed by GA. We had a false start on a FG to win, we miss a FG to win. Today sucked anyway you slice it. Disappointing to lose like we did.

While there are positives to take away this felt more like a fail.

Man, I used to take comfort in thoughts like that sometimes. I don't have a problem with trying to be positive about the future, but I just can't after missed opportunities that don't come often. I've gone too long without. I can't find solace in "we'll get you next time."

I want someone else's fans to suffer. I don't want them to think about suffering -- I want them to suffer. I want them asking "what do we do now?" We've suffered for over a decade. Let someone else have to rationalize and endure. We've suffered the worst fifteen years in program history. It's gotten better these past years, but even so, we haven't gotten to the top of anything. We've suffered enough.

This is about like saying a good looking girl at the bar laughed at something you said and for a few minutes she thought about what it would be like if you pinned her ankles behind her head. Doesn’t mean a damn thing if you leave with a dry dick.

Okay but we should’ve already been up by 20 at that point lol
We are down 3+ starters on defense. Bama or UGA can’t survive that. Banks dialed it up when we needed it. I don’t know what else he could’ve done with the cards he’s been dealt this year.

We could be down all 11 starter and giving up 38 to that below average offense would still be horrendous

Disappointed as I am with the loss, the effort and skill of our players left a stronger impression on me. Our offense struck first and kept answering. We have a football team that flat out plays. This is not an ordinary team.

You mean like UGA did against Bama last year when UGA made a great comeback to get the lead only to let Bama take it away in the final minute?

We've been saying "next time" for 9 years now. They out recruit us every year.
As long as Smart is there, we may not ever beat Georgia. We also won't be
playing them every year henceforth.

I'd gladly trade places with them. To have it in our hands only to turtle up, picked up and give it away at home rips the heart out of a fan.... especially at home.
