Did I say you couldn't be excited? No. I thought it was odd that someone who thinks we lose the first game would be "excited" about the up coming season.

I will refrain from any snarky remarks, but you need to settle down tough guy. Thanks.

I'm excited about UT football in general. The results of the season, will obviously dictate how much excitement the season actually generates, but I'm ready to get it started and see where it goes.

Ive come to the opinion that eric is one of those fans that got hurt so bad by his high hopes in the past that he refuses to let/ show how he really feels about the upcoming season. It hurt me too, I just refuse (at least I try ) to let my past hurt influence my present excitment. Yes it will hurt me worse than some if things go bad again but so be it, im fired the f*** up!

You can be excited, and hold a logical thought process that we aren't where any of us truly want to be. That's why it's hard to admit, because of my excitement for the first game, that we will likely lose to NCST Friday, but that's not dampening my mood.

I get that. And for most of us on here, we all know the score. If results aren't delivered this year, we should expect a change.

However, when someone has been pretty vocal about their disapproval of the HC and predicts a loss the first game, I'm not buying the whole "I'm hyped about the season".

This isn't a true fan rant, I get it. I've read disapproval on other forums as well and to this point, it's hard to argue against their position but at least they're consistent in their negativity.

You dampen your excitement by "saying" we wont win. I dont buy it. Maybe after we beat NCST you can truly come out of your shell and be excited. Im guessing you also have us losing to UF, and no matter what happens in the NCST game im sure your opinion wont change. However , after we beat UF, even those so hurt like yourself wont be able to hold back the excitement anymore. :)

Just ready for some football. Until we start playing poorly and losing, I will always be excited for an upcoming season.

Having said that I picked us to beat NCST, but will not be surprised either way with the result.

I agree. I am excited as any fan, but we still have some lingering depth and injury issues as well as questions in the kicking game and adjusting to the new D before we compete with the likes of Bama, GA and SC. We can probably beat NCST, but need another year or 2 to build quality depth to beat those 3. Not saying upsets are impossible, but not likely.

Osborne Brothers - Rocky Top 1967 - YouTube

No Woo, No BS, just the original song and the way I remember it sounding when I was young.

Understandable, for a country bluegrass classic. However, for a college pep song (notice I didn't say fight song, I know it's not our official fight song), there's nothing wrong with inserting the 'woo' for the pause where it's sung.

Apples vs. Oranges, IMO.

Why will we likely lose to NCST? Just curious.
