that's what i thought. Buisness up there got me a bit confused by saying Sept. 6th. No hard feelings! :hi:
i think he was referring to the kickoff date for the opening game....which is the 5th btw....![]()
Been out for awhile. What's the story behind "redlegs" and Hudepohl? Interesting combo.
Well, I can't speak for "Redlegs" here, but presumably, it's a Cincinnati connection. Given that during the height of the Red Scare in the 50's, the Reds changed their nickname to the Redlegs, and Hudepohl was a major Cincinnati brewery back in the day. These days, there's still a corporate headquarters in Cincy, but Hudy Delight (which, as far as I know is the only Hudepohl brew still in production) is brewed in Wisconsin somewhere, and Sam Adams bought the old Hudepohl brewery in Cincinnati as a second location for making their various beers.
Football Time In Tennessee has been out.
This hit the stands last Thursday.

Maple Street Press
Thanks for the input, guys. I was actually referring to the magazine with the aforementioned name. We use to be able to get it in SE KY, but I guess I'll have to look a little harder. Wal-Mart use to carry it but I haven't seen it. Guess I'll have to go to the bookstore.
As for the name Redlegs and Hudepohl; I was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. As mentioned earlier, Hudepohl is currently brewed in Wisconsin with headquarters in Cincinnati. For those interested, Hudy Delight, Burger, Burger Light, Little Kings, and Christian Moerlein are all owned by Hudepohl Schoenling, with Moerlein being the only one currently brewed in Cincy. Hudepohl 14-K will be relaunched soon with plans to eventually return the brewing operations for all the brands back to the Queen City. The Wisconsin plant currently is under contract for such matters.
Now, back to football........
