8-4

We'll come out strong and dog-walk Syracuse, which will get our hopes up.

Losses to Georgia, Bama, and Swamp Lizards. Plus one more random ass loss that makes no sense and we will complain about all season.

Bowl win against some Big10 school, and finish with a respectable 9-4.

And they've just passed the second turn and are heading into the back stretch with 9Wins barely holding off 8Wins, who stumbled at the gate but is gaining ground quickly. 10Wins has secured the rail and won't let anyone in and is in a solid 3rd place with 6Wins, 7Wins and 11Wins bringing up the rear. 12Wins is running just a dream away right now but we've got plenty of time before this race is over.

Staaaaaay tuned ladies and gentlemen as there is plenty more racing of the Vol Stakes, coming to you from the VolNation Downs - the #1 Thoroughbred track along the Tennessee River

I seem to be more pessimistic than most this season. I'm going with 7.

Lost a lot of key players. Feels like a rebuilding year. If we get to 8 wins, I'll be pretty happy.

It'll be football time soon for the Tennessee Volunteers, as we have a date w the Orangemen of 'Cuse in just 58 days in Atlanta.

So VolNation, what say you? How many W's are we going to post for our regular season? (poll does NOT include bowl or playoff games)

Go Vols and let's kick some SEC Arse!!

If we don’t win at least 8 with that easy schedule it will be really disappointing. We probably won’t have an easier one. Unless major injuries or sorry qb.

8.5 as the over/under like most markets project is probably right on the mark. 8 or 9 regular season wins is what I'm expecting. Up to 10 if you want to count a bowl I suppose.

If our QB can actually hit open receivers, we could be a 10 win team. If not, our running game and defense will Carry us to 8-4, 9-3. I voted 9-3 tho. GBO VFL 🍊 🍊

We'll go 7-5 with losses at Florida, Alabama, Oklahoma, Syracuse, Arkansas.

Over/Under 7 on Aguilar's INT vs Wins? I'll take the Over. We don't have the defense this year to hide his mistakes.

Our OL will have to improve leaps and bounds for us to expect over 8 wins. I’m not sold on our OL Coach either. HEUPEL way too loyal to this guy. Hope the big uglies prove me wrong but my BVS says we are lacking in player development in this room.

8 or 9. I went with 9. Lots of questions but I’m optimistic our defense will be very good still. It’s not like our offense was great last year. The longer you can hang in a game, anything can happen

You better duck. That's an unpopular opinion according to some.

My best case scenario is 9…but we can’t stumble or it could be 7-8. That Syracuse game is huge. They are a much improved program and everyone wants to beat an SEC team…Georgia has too much horsepower first us IMO but it’s in Neyland and it’s early…that would be a huge upset win. We play both Bama and Florida on the road and haven’t beaten either on the road since 2003 - 10 straight loses. I think Bama is going to be stronger this year and will be extremely tough to beat…Florida is late in the season and the only other time we played late in the season down there we won…we should be favored and win the rest (we’ll be favored against Syracuse as well) but there are no gimmes in the SEC…the Kats always want to beat us more than any other team and will be physical - Miss State will be better this year but we still should win…but both those are on the road

edit: of course in this modern era, unless you’ve really kept up with all the transfers in and out for all our opponents, it’s a stab in the dark when Picking many games
