We should be 5-1 going to Bama but I put down 8 wins but now think we go 9-3!!
I wouldn't count that Oklahoma game as a win. With a good QB and competent OC they beat us by two scores last year.

They've improved both those areas of the team and have bright in better classes than we have. It should be close but I'm not counting it as a win. I'm rolling with 8

Poll only allows you to vote for one number. Man up VegasVolFan!!
Ha I split the difference and went with 8. Heupel surprises us every year though. I like the Moxy this Aguilar kid has, but our OL… sheesh.

8 and 4 and Bowl win and move on to next year.
Agreed. Hopefully we play close games we lose and show promise at OL. I will say this, if we reload on DL and our OL somehow surpasses my expectations, we could do a lot better. I think Aguilar has it… I just think our OL doesn’t lol

There will inevitably be a letdown game. Happens to nearly every team across the country. Most people think 9-3 so factoring in the letdown game I am saying 8-4. Not a bad season by any means, just a rebuilding year.

In Heup's defense-most of his “clunkers” have been on the road. Doesn’t excuse them, but I think a lot of people are too harsh on him in that regard.

Mizzou in 2023 is commonly cited as one, and i think it’s unfair to call it as such. Yes we should’ve done far better, but Mizzou was a legitimately good team that year, and we were a step below. It happens.

Arkansas was a lot worse, and harder to swallow. But i think Nico was more to blame for it than Heup. Either way, it was an SEC night game against a desperate coach looking for anything to save his job after yet another embarrassing loss to Texas A&M. Those games are never easy. But even so, 100% agree we should’ve never lost that game.

South Carolina….. we don’t talk about that one.

(Not going to count any losses in 2021 as clunkers because that wouldn’t be fair.)
The clunker in 2023 was Florida, not Mizzou. If the Vols had won that game UF would have gone 4-8 in 2023 including a loss to a 4-8 Arkansas team.

Optimistic me is hoping to (finally) win in Gainesville or Tuscaloosa (or both). Realist me says we lose both and go 9-3.

8 is the floor, 11 is probably the ceiling. 9-10 is probably most likely. College football takes funny bounces and surprises always happen. That’s why we play the games on the field and not on a message board. I am excited to see how the season progresses. GBO!

I guessed 8 but honestly this year I have no idea!

Qb and Wrs is a complete unknown to me. Hopefully Joey is the real deal and our receivers come into their own!

Could this reason alone, that nobody really knows what to expect from us this Fall, be our best secret weapon in years??

I'm thinking nine wins. Still not at the same level as GA, we've had better teams go to the swamp and still got owned, so there's another loss and likely Bama gets us on the road although we could be tripped up by Arkansas or maybe even Vandy.

The biggest unknown for me is QB status. The performance at that position will be key this season.

I think the QB position is our biggest weapon. No other team knows what to expect. We catch them napping!

I'm going with 8.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if we finish higher than this and even more surprised if we beat one of Alabama, Florida, or Georgia.
Yeah. We just haven’t proven or shown signs that we know how to beat Bama or Florida on the road or Georgia anywhere. Would be huge to just win one of those 3 and honestly a turning point. We’ll be big underdogs in all 3.
