Football parking question

Can any of you give positive and negatives of Lot 23B, G3 or G4 and G16 and C7 in regards to ease of getting in and out and best way to go into the lots and what if you want to tailgate some?

Any input appreciated.

G16 isn't bad but (unless they've changed it since '16, you must take Volunteer Blvd going W. That can be an issue.

I've always purchased a pass for Locust st. garage, not sure if I like Locust or nervous about making a change that would make things hard. This year I had considered a change to G17. What are your thoughts?

I would thing getting out would be a nightmare.

I have no idea about parking because I haven't been to a game in a long time, but I love this discussion because it means... IT'S (almost) FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE!

I am really just curious how many people have their favorite private lot and aren't willing to share it on a public forum.

I have mine, 10 min walk to the stadium, less than 5 minutes onto 40W, and $10. Can't be beat....unfortunately very small and first come first serve.
I beat you to it lol. Market Square Garage free plus things to do around Market Square.... free parking, close area shops, restaurants and bars and only 15-20 minute walk or $6 bus ride near Stadium. If Market Square full 500 State Street Garage a few blocks away also free and if that’s full then public parking below it at meters no charge only Monday-Friday. Also 906 Poplar Lot and Methodist Church are nice to tailgate and very close to Stadium with only 5-10 minute walk and very easy to get on interstate 40... both $40 each and love to share good info to Vol fans. Hopefully I will make some extra Vol friends tailgating around these areas when I do. I figured unless I can get a really good parking pass cheap I am not interested. You have to donate nearly 25+ years or give 5K a year to get a decent parking pass from University and a lot of fans has not put the time or money in it and just want a decent spot to just park or even tailgate without paying an arm or leg.

I bought parking passes before but just can’t beat Market Square Garage which is free and a block from Locust. The walk isn’t bad just about 15 minutes or $6 for Kat bus ride. Your also located with quite a few places to eat, stores and what ever is going on at Market Square. I am saving my $150 and can get better parking but if you want a spot better get there early. If it is full I normally go to 500 State Street Garage which is only a couple of blocks away and free too only about a 20-25 minute walk. I occasionally tailgate at Market Square and State Street Garage but not very popular locations because of local shops, bars and restaurants and fans normally explorers different things. Other than being free State Street and Market Square Garages are super easy to get on to interstate 40 very quickly if you take your time and walk after game.

I’m lucky, my son lives near campus, AG parking is nice, but I like to walk.

Yes, generally speaking agree. However, I drive a mini cooper to the games that can easily fit between pylons which get's me out quickly. I just wondered if there were better options out there such as G17.

Sorry... I was referring to G17. You're kind of stuck between Terrace and Lake.

i parked in Lake Avenue garage for a couple years..and of course G17 is next door now. Absolutely the worst experience every game getting out of there. Would never recommend either of those to anyone. I switched over to C21 (white st garage), and slip out the back way(not on Cumberland) much much easier.

Do you think they are better than 23b?

I've never parked in 23b. I am going west when I leave stadium in case that matters. There are police directing traffic out of lot and it is pretty easy to get out in my opinion.

The one negative is that you have to get to the garage pretty early. There have been several instances where I got to the garage 1 hour before kickoff and the attendant told me the garage was full. And I had 2 parking passes. lol

What did you do? That would’ve ticked me off.

Oh I was ticked. Still am actually. They directed me to another garage on most occasions. Once I drove around for 10 minutes and came back. Attendant was gone so I parked in the garage
