Football isn’t happening...

The shut downs are idiotic. The meltdown over this is idiotic. If you’re old or vulnerable because of whatever health condition you may have, then take precautions. Everyone else should go on with life as normal. Stop melting down over inflated numbers. If you’re scared, stay tf home.
....

Except life isn't normal. People are suffocating in their sleep from a flu type virus...but it's the middle of the summer. Dying from it...
Dying alone because relatives can't be around them.

Yeah let's just not try to limit that at all.

Let's just spread that around... because, hell it's not harming anyone at all.

Who cares if there's no vaccine for it...? Right???

Calm down drama queen. You’re making it sound like people are dropping like flies. It’s just not the case. People have been dying all over from various things forever, should we just barricade ourselves in for that too? But yeah, let’s just shut down again and cause even more small businesses to close forever. Even more people can lose their life’s work, their homes, their jobs, and all over a virus that the vast majority of people will hardly be bothered much by. If you’re scared, stay tf home.

You're not seriously using Texas as an example for what everyone else is doing are you? They're the guys who have fought using any kind of mandatory mask or quarantine precautions until they have been forced to do it. The last thing they would ever do is purposely inflate their counts. You may find one or two locations where reporting methodology has been inconsistent but it's not by any master plan.
To top it off, the story has been updated. This original headline posted was misleading
UPDATE: San Antonio reporting issue leads Texas to remove more than 3,000 reported coronavirus cases | KTSA

I still don’t understand the conspiracy that somehow my wife’s urgent care business is gaining something from having more positives.

Yes, you will be denied service

In Jackson we have a mandatory mask order in businesses. I see at least a few people each day in Kroger, or other large stores, with no mask. Regardless, those numbers are small, but at least 50% of folks wear their mask under their nose. Worse, a noticeable percentage are wearing them as chinstraps, and employees are as guilty as customers. Then there are the folks wearing clear face shields which do nothing, and now I'm seeing more and more thumbing their nose at the mandate by wearing their mask pulled up on their forehead.

I don't give a damn about masks one way or the other. There's a mandate, I respect the fact businesses can get in trouble if they don't enforce it and it's as easy to wear it right as wrong. If a city institute's a mandate, at least make it consistent with what mask proponents in the medical field say is effective.

Will say, masks are a pain with hearing aids. The cord tangles and a device hits the ground pretty regularly if you aren't careful. Had an audiologist appointment a few weeks ago, and she said it was horrible how many people were losing hearing aids. At about $2500 each, it's a tough pill to swallow.

Lol, you "if you're scared stay tf at home" people are as big of a drama queen as anyone else. It bothers you so bad that someone is concerned about all of this that you have to puff up your E-chest and tell them to stay TF home.

Imo everybody should just shut up and do what they think is best for them. No one has the answers.

I'll take my own advice. Lol.

All over the country, this is the way it works. People won't obey evil, communist laws. Free market businesses don't want to lose customers because of socialist policies. As Trump said a few days ago, it was Biden and Obama who stopped the testing. You can thank them for all of our problems. Having unscientific restrictions for no other purpose than to limit our freedoms will never stand. I for one am willing to be arrested. I love my country. It is a tragedy so few of you do as well.

I'm a conservative Republican. Maybe try reading it again. I'll add, I am absolutely opposed to a mask mandate being enforced by police against citizens in public places. I hate wearing a mask, but as a conservative I support the right of a business to deny service for any reason. The mandate hear is in between, and I believe it would stand up to constitutional scrutiny. I'm not in favor of the mandate, but there are plenty of laws I'm not in favor of, and this isn't even a law. And it sure as hell isnt communist.

If we had mandated masks, we could be pretty much done with the first wave already, just like most of the rest of the world is. Europe is basically back open for business now, and sports are being played in front of live crowds. Me made our situation so much worse, from both a disease and economic standpoint, by not listening to science. The U.S. and Brazil are the laughingstocks of the world when it comes to how we handled this.

And this my friends is an example of the attitude that will be the reason we probably won't have college football this year. I am not going to debate this because it would be futile except to ask one question. What freedom granted by the U.S. Constitution has been limited by requiring you to wear a mask in a private business?

Viruses don’t care about your freedom. And not everything is about you. You a wear a mask to protect others. By not wearing one, you are putting other people at risk. People who believe in science and wear a mask shouldn’t have to worry about coming across people like you who refuse to wear one in public.

Starting in a few days the local Walmart where I live will be adding outside security and enforcing a no mask , no entry policy. I heard this directly from an Manager at one of the locations. I’m sure this will be the policy at all the Walmart’s. Kroger has just announced the same thing and one other well known company which I cannot remember the name of at the moment. They can make you or advise to take your business somewhere else. Unfortunately for you , this will likely be a policy across the board for all brick and mortar businesses.
Have you been to a doctor’s office in the last 2 months? They have been enforcing the same policy in this area since March.

So buddy, what are you going to do? Get yourself arrested when you force your way into a business without a mask? Hopefully you are not that ignorant .
Getting arrested TRYING to go shopping at Walmart is about as trailer park as it gets.

A mandatory 2 or 4 year stint post-highschool would do this country a world of good. Nice bonus to re-up or go to state colleges for free after service period. Uncle Sam would provide the boot in the a$$ that most kids never get any longer. Everybody serves, no exceptions for bone spurs. There would be a spot for everyone.

Now back to the mask discussion.
I don't disagree but if we have moron citizens who think being required to occasionally wear a mask to prevent the spread of a disease is a huge infringement on their liberty, how are they going to react to spending 2 years in involuntary government service? I am guessing not well.

What if Football does happen ?
Will you start a thread saying what was I thinking with all that $$$$$$$TV TV TV TV TV
I’m pray we have a college football season. I think we all need it. My point is will the administrators allow it happen.

How an ACC-Big 12-SEC scheduling alliance could save top...

The new theory being bandied about ("confirmed" by Peach Bowl brass) is an alliance between the Big XII/ACC/SEC wherein the Big XII plays their nine-game conference schedule plus one OOC matchup while the ACC and SECC play their eight-game conference slates and two OOC matchups.

I'm of the opinion that cutting from 12 games to 10 and replacing three G5/FCS OOC opponents with one "closer" P5 school is akin to putting lipstick on a pig, but the idea is intriguing. I'm still squarely in the corner that you either play all games or none (and firmly believe SEC schools should be playing all twelve games), but this definitely does help some conference members who are losing OOC matchups with the Big Ten and Pac-12.

Me too. Everyone has an opinion and is welcome to it. The thing that gets on my nerves though are the absolutes posting as if they have inside knowledge. NO ONE knows right now and college football fans want to still have some hope so when someone says "Football isn't happening" it's going to generate backlash whether right or wrong.

I'll take that pretty pig and make sweet love to it. I'll take any pig if it gets me some big orange.

Many states say your permit to carry is invalid if your face is obstructed. My 2nd amendment rights are violated. This is likely the REAL reason behind mask mandates.
So I assume you're gonna show them who's boss by carrying while wearing a mask and dare someone to deny you service?

So, I'll play along with the troll here.

If I understand you correctly, the COVID issue is a diabolical scheme to get us scared of a non-existent threat, the end result being a mask mandate, which will, indirectly, lead to a decrease in the ability to CC during the period you are wearing the mask, which will then result in a 'repeal' of the 2nd Amendment, guns being confiscated, and overnight government tyranny?

Man. That %$#& is GOLD!!!!

Your Tennessee carry permit is not valid in "many states" already. It is not illegal in Tennessee to wear a mask if you have a carry permit so your second amendment rights have not been violated by wearing a mask. Plus a private business can forbid you from carrying in their business. The question that I asked...What freedom granted by the U.S. Constitution has been limited by requiring you to wear a mask in a private business? A private business being private can most definitely require a mask be worn to enter, just as they can require shirts and shoes, or say you cannot carry in their establishment because your rights do not take precedent over their rights.

Although I would love to debate you I am just going to end this conversation right now. The Supreme Court has already ruled on if this issue is constitutional or not in Jacobson v. Massachusetts, 197 U.S. 11 (1905). Not only have they ruled on it, it was reaffirmed later by the Supreme Court in Zucht v. King, 260 U.S. 174 (1922) , and it has been cited multiple times by the Supreme Court in other rulings. It is quite frankly the "law of the land". The Court held that "in every well ordered society charged with the duty of conserving the safety of its members the rights of the individual in respect of his liberty may at times, under the pressure of great dangers, be subjected to such restraint, to be enforced by reasonable regulations, as the safety of the general public may demand".

I say all this as a life long Republican. I just think it is better for our citizens to be informed before it costs a lot of your time and money challenging things that you seem to be ill informed on. Go Vols!
