Weaknesses: Young/inexperienced OL, BUT by mid season I see them as neither a strength nor a weakness.

QB, more of a question mark than a weakness tho.

Secondary is talented, but lost key players in Myles and not being able to sign Juco D. Clark.

Strengths: The Defensive unit as a whole will be solid again this season.

WR core should be great this year, with a dangerous combination of speed, height, experience, etc.

The fact that nobody knows about us again this year.

Fair enough and If I couldnt take a little good natured smack talk i wouldn't have been here as long as I have. As for the hospitality If you are in the Classic City this year feel free to stop by my tailgate and we will be glad to fill you up with food, drinks and good ole smack talk.

In response to your original question...

Weakness is the D-Line, mainly D-Tackle and the lack of depth along with the lack of experience in the secondary.

O-Line is brand new, but has the potential the be great once they get past the growing pains.

Quarterback is a huge question mark, but shows promise.

Either way, gonna be a season full of ups and downs, hopefully the ball bounces our way a couple of times though.

Good synopsis. I think UT will be fine in the long run but with a green OL and DL I think you guys could see some bumps in the road.

As for us I think that we will be fine on Offense as long as Murray can stay healthy and minimize mistakes. As for the D I think we will have some flashes of brilliance and a few head scratching moments (I really dont believe that we could be any worse than we have the past 3 years). The lack of quality depth on the DL could hurt us in the long run but I think we have a legitimate shot at contending for the east.

I think Murray can be good, he just needs game time, so my jury is still out on him. Besides that, as long as the D improves you guys have a decent shot at the East, it's possible this year with Florida and so many other teams being down.

Should be an interesting and learning year no matter what...

Ouch...I think that is a personal fould, but it cant be anyworse than last year or atleast that is what I will tell myself.

The real question is how will it feel if you guys go 6-6 like some are saying?

WR is about the only spot that I can consider a true strength. I think it's a position where experience isn't as important as it is for others. You can get away with a lot thanks to talent and there's no doubt we have serious talent there.

DL really isn't "green." The injury to Martin hurts, but we still have a lot of talent on the DL and a good bit of experience to go along with it. I think Chuck Smith will bring a little extra to the table this year.

And next time I am in Athens, which sadly won't be this year on account of my active military duty, I will be sure to hit you up. Next time you are up in Knoxville I will do the same. I am out of here, but good luck this season... hopefully we snag a win down in Athens this year!

Well, it's not unexpected by many. A trip to a bowl game would be a reasonably successful season (this year) I guess. Still, any loss stings.

Sounds good and thanks for your service to our country and it is trueley a selfless career choice. Some things are more important than football even if we dont want to admit it.

I'll call 6-6 and a bowl game a successful year. Some are even calling for 4-8 around these parts...
