Program just began on SEC Network going back through the year. On that Oklahoma touchdown to tie, the play before would not have been a td if we had only not fouled. Oh my, what could have been if we hadn't fouled? Go VOLS!!

Just saw that Florida game and remember how sick I was at my stomach going out of the swamp. Oh, that my feeling in a few weeks will be different in Neyland! Go VOLS !!

I really think the team is different this season. Team was really good, just didn't know what to do with a lead.

Watching the Alabama replay and I wish it would show Aaron Medley miss 3 field goals.

We at least get to overtime if he hits 2 out of 3.

Dang what a year. We were so close to being in the SEC championship.

That pass interference hurt big time, especially since the ball was pretty much uncatchable and we would have stopped their drive.

I guess they could fill 60 minutes with Medley's "DOINKS" as well...

I put last years blown leads on Butch, not the players.

Clearly, the buck stops at the top but we're going to have close games and some incredible defensive struggles. I think maybe Butch went a long ways to addressing the blown leads by bringing in Shoop to replace Jancek.

One of the concerns I've heard about Jones is that the reason he goes conservative is that he doesn't always seem to trust his players, at least not last year. He addressed trust in his players emphatically in his game week presser earlier today.

Why is it hard for people to say it was both?
Butch caused problems, but come on, all these coaches know about winning big games and championships. Without looking at playcalling, go look at how great the team played in the 1st then watch them in the 2nd. Night and day. Then watch them turn the corner against Georgia. Do you not give Butch the credit for turning it around? I dont say this next sentence hatefully, but either you answer "no" and are a hypocrite or you answer "yes" and admit in some capacity that there was a problem with the players finishing and Butch fixed that.

No reason to get upset, friend. I agree that I think Butch knew after the Arky game that he couldn't sit on leads anymore and go conservative in the 2nd half of games and expect to win big in the SEC. Do the players bear any responsibility? Sure, they have to execute the plays that are called, but it was the game plan itself that went conservative in those blown leads, and that falls mostly on coaches....imo

Couldn't watch it. It would drive me to drinking lol but I did watch it the first time it came on a while back and it was interesting to see the transformation after that Arkansas game.

I agree. That conservative, Fulmeresques "run out the clock" strategy will get you beat. That's exactly what happened. Yeah, had our guys made a couple of plays on those 4th down attempts it would have saved his azz but I'm sorry, Butch owns those losses. I have high hopes he has learned from those and I'm sure he's received so much criticism that he has changed. I do have to give him credit to have the balls to make a change and go out and bring in Shoop. There's no doubt in my mind that Butch is THE guy our program needed and I hope he's here for many years. :dance2:
