Alabama is working on another upgrade, it will increase our capacity by 10,000. Should be atleast 103,000+ by the time its done. UT will prolly still be a little bigger.

don't expect those numbers to get any better any time soon. we are still selling out over 100% of capacity, but with the renovations and addition of more luxury seating the capacity will only continue to get smaller. on the stadium renovation website, Mike Hamilton said the projections after all renovation is complete is that capacity will be approx. 101,000.

With the nations widening of the butt trend, it's about time the number of people packed in Neyland is reduced. I'm tired of paying 50 bucks plus for eight inches of seat space!:banghead2:

well, unless you're independently wealthy, you're still going to be squeezing into your seat at Neyland. The quality upgrade is for the club level on the west side of the stadium (similar to the east club level).

Back when I was single, I always tried to take skinny dates to the FB games.

In other words, they want 10-20 wealthy fans over 100 or 1000 average fans. It brings in more money, but it doesn't seem right. Kind of like reducing the student allotment at the men's basketball games this year. It's about greed and image.

my understanding of the >$100million neyland renovation is upgrade/repair of stadium infrastructure, expansion of concession stands, more bathrooms, etc.

funding comes from sale of club seats, and donations.

rather than raise ticket prices for everyone, the U has decided to soak it to a few, while everyone (including those who didn't pay for the improvements) benefits.

Aside from the couple of thousand who no longer get in. It will benefit most of the people though. Better facilities should help recruiting too.

That UL-LA game couldn't have helped with the "96,000" attendance.

All we need is more rich old goobers who can't get their voices above 0.5 decibles! Hamilton will probable try how to do away with the students tickets since they are not so profitable. We need more noise, IMO, not less.:banghead2:

i think it would be cool if we adopted some kind of pep ralley or "yell practice" the night before the game. kinda like A&M does. this could help make the crowd a little rowdier. we use to have a reputation of being the place no one wants to play at but that is kinda dieing out it seems

Been to Michigan/ Not very loud and not impressive until you go inside. Even then not really special like bleachers in a bowl.

Yeah, the thing I hear consistently around the country is, "Our 75,000-80,000 are louder than your 105,000." Sometimes, unfortunately, it is true. It's really evident at road and neutral site games. We usually outnumber, but we rarely out-yell.

Have you considered this gets them away from the sideline and the "choice" noise seats?

it's called bigger business and it's the reason every D1 school has football.

UT was offered the chance to play VT in Bristol and the speedway, but the school said no because they didn't want to lose any revenue.
