Football at Bristol "terrible idea"

Ah jealousy.

If your team isn't in this game, it's stupid and terrible football and not worth attending.

All these same fans and sports writers would be all gaga over the possibilities if it were their team in the game.

Just jealousy, plain and simple.

Go Vols!

Yes, it's a gimmick. It's an advertising ploy and a way to get the Vols in the record books. But, I'm going and I'll be taking my binoculars.

I realize that Tennessee and VT will stuff the coffers with $ million. Being diabetic and not being able to bring approbate food and drink into the seating area, Having to eat fast food, my blood sugar would soar. Just can't take the risk. However, I will enjoy watching the the game on the big screen and having appropriate food and drink.

Traffic to and from the speedway will be horrific.

Why would traffic be any worse than it is for a race? ... And big deal anyway, if you go to night games at Neyland on regular basis you should be used to waiting in traffic for at least an hour.

As a one time event, this works just fine. Some writers just need things to complain about.

it's a genius idea for a first-time evolution. biggest live attendance football game ever. gameday will be there. a perfect "tradition" border-rivalry that should have existed for the past 20+ years....

i expect there to be some hiccups, though, and if they decide to do it again, they'll know what to correct.

But wait, I've heard right here on this very board "there's not a bad seat in the house!" LOL

Its not a bad idea, its pure genius. It will be a spectacle that people will be talking about for the next 20 years, unless BMS decides to make this an annual
event, which I doubt unless UT wants in.

I didn't get back from last Thurs. until after 1AM. Traffic was horrible on Neyland & Volunteer.

you had to be going 800+mph to make it back to sarasota that quickly! :)

i've got easy access to the strip so i dont suffer from it as bad as a lot of you guys

who gives a rats a$$ what this a$$ clown says

The decision was made when? Two years ago? The tickets have been sold, entertainment (if you can call it that) booked, infield turned to turf, campground and hotel reservations made, and by now, some making the longest drives are on their way.

Kinda late to be trying to talk us out of it. A$$ clown? You nailed it.

I think this guy has a point. The field looks tiny, so naturally the game will be difficult to follow. Also the parking situation will be disastrous. Do the stands fill up during a race? How long does it take to get out of that place? I heard it was one way in and one way out.

Some of that is said with blue don't but at the same time I can't help but feel this is going to be a huge pain for those attending. Fans going are much braver sports fans than myself.

Everyone going knows the view will be worse than inside of football stadium.
Wts, everything else has been pulled off by the NASCAR fans, twice a year, for decades.
If UT fans can't accomplish the same, I mean, that would be embarrassing.

Fortunately, I feel most that couldn't accomplish this, are going to be complaining on keyboards instead of attending. So we should be fine.

FFS why do people feel the need to ***** and moan about things they're not planning on attending and have no interest in going to anyway?
