What are you taking about? You mean this?
Sean Payton, Drew Brees: 'Misunderstanding' when fans booed during moment of silence | NOLA.com
Read it before you make something up for the message board. By your logic, the fans all booed the fallen officer. That didn't happen either. There was a poorly timed moment of silence.

Even if it was a misunderstanding, these men playing a game making millions really have something to protest. Grow up people. I'm done with the NFL

Haha. Typical. The truth of the matter is not what you are interested in, is it? Well,I'm sure the NFL will shut down when you close your wallet. Maybe you should grow up and see that the protest might mean more to some Americans than you.

Remind me; at what salary do you lose your right to peacefully protest?

Go ask the president how these guys should go about paying respect to the troops and our freedoms.

When you are at work, you don't have a right to protest. Most people would be fired on the spot. And trust me, I will never watch the NFL again.

How did you come to that conclusion? I participated in several protests during my career. One specifically where the defense contractor I worked for made us all attend Republican PAC presentations followed by signup instructions to deduct PAC donations directly from your salary. The peaceful protest got that eliminated in short order. No careers were jeopardized.

Shawn Bryson? i couldnt see Tee giving Hooker ammunition like this, but I'm not really what kind of connections Hooker has.

This makes no sense to me. Jones is not solely responsible for player development. He has a whole staff of assistant coaches and trainers whose job it is to help players develop. ALL of them are incompetent? How can that be?

I agree that on the surface it looks like the players aren't getting better. But Butch not being able to develop players is a little too convenient for the Fire Butch crowd. Something tells me it's more complicated than that.

Hire better staff.

Add that to the list.

I rarely ever post and am not acquainted with blog etiquette. If the following seems too esoteric for the forum, let me know and I’ll return to lurking. Otherwise, please humor me because my wife is more interested in This Is Us than psychoanalyzing our coach.

What has been CBJ’s fundamental flaw?

Most have cited player development. Erik Ainge, however recently suggested that an ‘East Tennessee cultural conflict’ is the bigger problem. According to Ainge, CBJ never grasped the value Tennessee fans place upon personal connection. Instead of using press conferences to speak to the fan base, Ainge believes CBJ used press conferences to speak indirectly to recruits. This, of course, helps explain why his statements come across so poorly, but now I’m wondering if this ‘cultural conflict’ may also explain his inability to develop players. Personal connections are, after all, desired by most everyone, not just East Tennesseans. So, is CBJ a classic example of someone great at securing buy-in but poorly suited at follow through? Is he great at making connections but poor at establishing more personal connections, or relationships? Does this explain why top recruits buy-in but never seem to sell-out for the cause? Could this also explain why respected coordinators have left for seemingly parallel positions?

And if the bedrock of great coaching is genuine concern for people, does Saban actually have a heart in that stone cold frame?

Using the word esoteric is too esoteric for the board.

On a serious note, I think you perfectly summed up what I’ve been feeling about Butch for a while. Great at selling, terrible about building on that sale.

First name that popped into my head was Justin Martin after reading that

“He won a national title at Tennessee as one of the better players and currently is a coach himself”........that’s the criteria, so Martin probably ain’t the guy.

Not to get political bc dont really give a shot
But if they are so concerned with the racist travesties or whatever liberal buzzword is being used to describe this today, why are there no other "protests" during the week or after game or off-season?
If it's so important to them, why arent they doing more?

Things like "leadership rep" and "Champions of Life" shows that Butch trains these guys like they're middle schoolers, giving them stars for minimal progress. Guys like Saban demand every ounce of excellence while Butch hands out trophies for that one good play they made in the 1st Q.

Don't some of those high priced assistants have some responsibility for player development? It's hard for me to envision Bear Bryant or Nick Saban getting dirty teaching fundamentals.
