Flynn Resigns Amid Russia Controversy

I'm not sure where this would fall in response to your question but he was advised on Jan. 19th by the FBI that Flynn had misled Pence and Flynn was also at risk for blackmail by the Russian government. What has changed since then? The leaks. Trump naively thought this could be swept under the rug. His ego and refusal to backtrack and admit to mistakes in his administration will be an ongoing problem.

Ah, so you have proof he tried to sweep it under the rug?

IMPEACH! Get those dirty Republicans back for trying to oust Clinton!

However you want characterize it, the facts haven't changed since Jan. 19th. He didn't ask for Flynn's resignation because he discussed sanctions with Russian Ambassador Serey Kislyak and lied about it to Mike Pence. He asked for his resignation because this information leaked to the public. It looks like he wanted to hang on to Flynn.

I think he already did and you lost.

Well, I'll just STFU at this point and not even mention anything about Fast and Furious in regards to Obama.

Or Benghazi.

Or the very likely chance Obama knew Hillary was using a private email server that was at risk.

Or the IRS targeting conservative groups.

Or his AG being held in contempt of Congress.

Or surveillance of journalists/Senators.

I'll make sure not to mention past Presidents having things happen on their watch they were allegedly "ignorant" of.

Oh, I'd be real careful about what the President knows and what he doesn't know. You really don't want to get involved in that tit-for-tat exchange with me.

Top GOP senators have already started beating the drum for investigations.
"I think everybody needs that investigation to happen," Sen. Roy Blunt, who serves on the Senate Intelligence Committee, said Tuesday on KTRS radio.
Joining his call were Sen. John Cornyn, the No. 2 Republican, and Sen. Lindsey Graham.
"I think Congress needs to be informed of what actually Gen. Flynn said to the Russian ambassador about lifting sanctions," Graham told CNN's Kate Bolduan on "At This Hour."
"And I want to know, 'Did General Flynn do this by himself or was he directed by somebody to do it?' " the South Carolina Republican added.

These are Republicans, and not just Graham. And you cannot tell me that they don't know the answers to a lot of these questions already, even if they are not public.

Let me ask you, if it comes out that Trump told Flynn to let the Russians know that, once he took office, he would see to it that the sanctions were undone, would you agree with me that Trump should resign, or be impeached?

Alternatively,

If it comes out that Flynn did that, and told Trump about it afterwards, and Trump did nothing about it plus lied on AF1 when he said he knew nothing about it, would you agree with me he should resign or be impeached?

Let me just go ahead and fix this long winded post of yours into something more succinct...

"I will find anything and everything about Trump questionable and will call for his impeachment any chance I get."

"And you should agree."

Now, that's better.

I can be very specific on this.

Yates was fired on January 30, 2017. Before she was fired, she told the WH counsel's office that Flynn had substantive conversations with the Russians, about sanctions, and that there was concern he could be blackmailed by them, either with that or something else.

So we know the WH counsel's office knew of this on or before January 30, 2017.

When asked about the substance of that on February 10, 2017, Trump told reporters on Air Force One that he had absolutely no knowledge of it and would look into it.

The issue is therefore three fold.

One, was Trump made aware of Yates' report to WH counsel or or about January 30, 2017. If so, why did he not immediately fire Flynn for having undertaken such a dangerous and remarkably dumb approach?

Two, if Trump was not made aware of this, then what the F is wrong with people in counsel's office? It is obviously critically important for the POTUS to know that his NSA director has had such contact.

Three, if Trump did know prior to February 10, and lied when he told the press on AF1 that he did not know anything about it, and Flynn was forced out only when the heat got to be too much, then Trump has enormous problems moving forward.

Numbers 1 and 3 are grounds for impeachment, no doubt about it.

Number 2 is troubling and another indicia of general incompetence in this WH, but it gets Trump off the hook, personally.

Number 4: who and how were the phone calls reviewed? Did NSA intercept the calls and turn them over to the DOJ?

You know what, eff it. Have Trump resign.

Have Pence resign while he's at it.

I want a Paul Ryan White House. With VP Rand Paul.

Biggest **** You to the DNC ever.

The only thing that makes sense here is that Trump told Flynn to instigate these contacts.

There is no way he was not briefed, and no reason to lie about it if he was not involved.

This is the most likely scenario and with the leaks Flynn is falling on his sword.

You are not answering the specific questions put to you. Deflection won't work here.

If either of those scenarios is true, would you agree that Trump should resign, or be impeached?

Or he takes his lumps like Obama did and presses through.

Option C.

Yep. Donald has to be really careful about this because there are people in his own party (McCain, Graham come to mind immediately) who are war hawks and would love to expose any sort of softness, real or perceived, on Russia.

Please do tell about Benghazi. After several congressional hearing and numerous emails reviewed I really want to know what Benghazi was all about.

Ergo, most military members actually won't *****, moan and complain about it in public. Because most military members have a certain code.

But, according to you, Trump obviously has a mental issue and the military needs to question it. Is that your objective, expert opinion, counselor? That President Trump is mentally unstable, hence the military should question his fitness to command? You have proof of this, obviously.

Or you could just stick to things you're good at other than this subject.

LG fomenting a military coup? Say it ain't so.

If you want to try to argue Rep. Gowdy's points, I'd love to hear it...

You know its bad when Trump defenders are hedging their bets 24 days into his administration.

How does it feel having the shoe on the other foot?

And furthermore, how does it feel knowing you have become like so many others on here calling for impeachment each and every chance you get like some did with Obama?

You mean other than the fact many of you on here are blaming Trump for something an underling did?

Gee, that hasn't happened before...

If this were the Obama admin LG would be telling us there is absolutely no evidence of any wrong doing here. Not a shred of evidence.

Instead he's inventing scenarios
