Hunting, no. P-51 Mustang at 100 ft doing 350 knots, yes.

Can only guess at what that feels like since I don't have $5 million to buy one, but I did chase cows around south Alabama in a T-28 at 300 kts a few times. Lots of horsepower, but not as nimble.

Your tax dollars at work. Thank you, I had fun.

I always thought those were cool airplanes. The fighter jet canopy with the ww2 fuselage looked awesome. I’d be happy to fly something faster than the 172 I usually rent. But then again.. I’m pretty damn happy in a 172. Lol

I don't fly, (you're welcome), but, I find the YT channel "Probable Cause : Dan Gryder" fascinating. Maybe a little morbid, but pilots should check him out.

I wonder if they dangle a ride in the jet in front of the recruit.
I have a buddy that is affiliated with a HS that frequently has recruits who are pursued by big-time programs. He said Saban landed in his helicopter on their adjacent practice field and came to visit a recruit at practice - it really created the desired impression that Bama was big-time football. I guess a helicopter trumps the flashy car that Butch said he needed to impress recruits!

Reminds me of the story of Kris Kristofferson landing a helicopter at Johnny Cash's house to deliver him a cassette of the demo for "Sunday Morning Coming Down". It worked! 😁

All this thread needs now is the Andy Griffith theme song with Griffith declaring, "What they called it was recruiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Just me, my 2 cents. Yes i only kill what i plan to eat. I refuse to kill and waste. But i dont kill much , i just enjoy being out doors and watching nature mostly

I'm all for that kind of thinking. Still, I was merely curious when I asked the original person about it. I used to read stories about why hunters hunt. Including detectives on the trail of criminals. Motivations are interesting topics.
