Those things a monsters. From the shadow shown for a few seconds on TV, you could still tell it was "the big boy". They seem to be flying at about 20mph they are so big.

They are huge. When we would forward deploy to OEF, we would stuff two of our 60B helicopters in a C5 and there was still plenty if room.

I hadn't even thought about a pre-game flyover and wasn't expecting it when it happened. Someone told me to look up and I saw this huge shadow slowly approaching overhead. It was spectacular to see and I am sure I've never seen an aircraft that size before. It almost didn't seem real. Definitely an unexpected highlight.

29 year Air Force guy here. I've flown in C5s before. Very interesting because you actually sit backwards. Although you can barely tell it because it is so big. Hard to tell that you are flying at all. C5s are being replaced by C17s.

Security Police AF veteran here. Cost of a C5 put in a class where we had to pull close-in security on it.Rode upstairs in one from Dover to Ramstein Germany. Does feel weird landing and taking off as like you said, you're sitting backwards.

Surpised it took off on time. Anyone that has worked with this plane will understand. I have loaded some pretty cool stuff on it though. Loaded a "small" sub on there before.

USAF vet. We have both C-5 & C-17 aircraft out here at Travis AFB. Funny thing is I never see them in the air now that I'm on the other side of Solano County.
