Just a few meaningless stats to get things started:

Florida

3rd Down: #2, 69.57%, (16-23)

DEFENSE
Rushing: #38, 84 YPG, 0 TD

Total: #22, 231 YPG, 0 TD
Scoring: #5, 4.5 PPG (3 FG)
3rd down: #21, 27.78%, (10-36)

EXTRA FACTS:
1. UF leads the country in rushing YPC at 8.35 YPC
2. UF has caught an INT in 14 straight games
3. Florida has scored 56 points in the 2nd quarter this year, more than any other two quarters combined.
4. Jeff Demps is the leading runner with 12 carries for 176 yards and 3 TD's. (14.7 YPC)
5. Riley Cooper is the leading WR with 10 receptions, 187 yards, 1 TD. (18.7 YPC)
6. Tim Tebow is the leading passer and is 25-39, 425 yards, 5 TD, 0 INT.

Tennessee

OFFENSE
Rushing: #15, 247.5 YPG, 5 TD
Passing: #80, 185 YPG, 5 TD, 5 INT
Total: #35, 432.5 YPG, 10 TD
Scoring: #22, 39 PPG

Scoring: #27, 13 PPG
3rd down: #5, 16%, (4-25)

EXTRA FACTS
1. Tennessee has 6 different players with an unassisted sack after 2 games.
2. Tennessee has only allowed 1.8 YPC on the ground this year, only Alabama is better in the SEC.
3. High profile players Eric Berry, Rico McCoy, and Dan Williams are #2,3 and 4 in tackles, but suprisingly, former walk-on Nick Reveiz leads the teams in tackles at 15.
4. After intercepting 17 passes last year, UT has only intercepted 1 pass this year.
5. Montario Hardesty is the leading rusher with 44 carries, 249 yards, 2 TD.

Hey, I'm just excited about rivalry week, and there's nothing like statistics to start a debate.

The correct form is "to whet your appetite". "Whet" means to hone or to make more keen or stimulated, whereas "wet" means to cover or soak with water.

So I guess that means no one is ready to talk about the Florida game yet? Dang. I wish UT had won so that you guys would be all excited and talking about the game.

COME ON! It's UT v UF WEEK!

After glancing through all of those stats, the one that did stick out was UT's 3rd down conversion defense. You all said it would get better this year, and it did. I didn't expect that. Although it is early still.

Also, Nick Reveiz leading the team in tackles was a shocker. Although 12 of those tackles were assisted, but whatever. (Eric Berry leads in solo tackles with 8. Big shocker there)

What's to talk about? You all will probably win by 40. Happy now?

Just difficult to get excited about it right now, maybe later in the week. Im fairly certain we all know the outcome of the game already though

Whatever. I know a lot of people here 3 days ago thought UF was in trouble. One bad game shouldn't change that.

Just think, if Crompton had a good game instead of a bad game, UT wins that game by 2 or 3 TD's.

Kiffin said it himself. He put Crompton in a bad position by putting players out there that weren't prepared to play because of a lack of practice.

Maybe Crompton is in a better position to win next week. If he makes it through that game without a turnover, the Vols have a shot. Just like in every game.

Heck, Florida fumbled SIX TIMES against Troy State yesterday. SIX ******* TIMES!

Our best bet is that Florida has not been challenged at all this year, two easy games is all. The vols obviously got challenge on Saturday so I am hoping they will be a little better prepared for the game.

Keeping that in mind, if we can get a little luck, and Crompton decides that he will make up for a few bad passes maybe we will have something for the Tebow band wagon

Be that as it may, I was never one of those people. So Florida by 40.

Last week you argued that the UCLA game wouldn't tell us anything useful, and I argued that it would. I stand by that. Getting beat by a mid-level UCLA team told us plenty - and itshould give you a pretty good barometer of how well the Vols will play in Gainesville.

And it won’t be pretty.

And BTW, it’s not a ‘Rivalry’ when one team sucks. Kinda like how we feel about Kentucky.

If 2001 was the only game UT had won, ever, in the entire series, it would be enough to make it a rivalry for me.

And I didn't argue this. Someone else did. I knew the game would be important as a measuring stick for UT this season.

But who has UF played as a measuring stick? Troy State? They had some fast players, but nothing special. Tennessee will be, by far, the most physical team UF has seen this year, and maybe the most phsyical team they will see during the regular season.

Maybe UCLA was just better than we thought they were. I mean, that was a pretty determined group of guys out there yesterday. They even had a decent ground game, considering their line.

since they are meaningless I won't waste my time to read all that.

I agree with OWB---UF by 40+

give us another yr. or 2 and we'll be able to compete with the mighty gators. :worship:

Guys this is just sad. If I wanted people to talk blowouts, I'd go post on the gator boards where the current line is UF by 800.

UT lost one game. Just one. Yeah it was ugly, but it's a long season. Maybe this UCLA game is the equivalent of UF's Ole miss game from 2008. YOu never know.

And FYI, stats aren't TOTALLY meaningless. But if you don't like pure numbers and rankings, you can always just read the extra facts section.

Ok Ok, let me give this a shot then. Our QB is going to complete 20 passes in a row........to your DB's.

Nope, I failed. UF by 40.
