Kinda puzzled by this one. A bit small for DT. Not a ton of production either. Just a body? Thought guys would beat down the doors to play for Garner and Knowles?

Garner isn’t going to bring in a bunch of 325lb DL. He doesn’t want DL that just plug up space.

Saw 290, but what's 10 lbs when the average weight of SEC linemen is 320? Just thought we were looking for heavier d-line players.
The average weight of an SEC lineman isn’t 320, but don’t let that stand in the way of your narrative.

Either way, 300 is a DT, not an End. SF said he’s 300 and a DT.

I've thought about Taylor's visit, and I have a thought. This is a no harm, no foul exploratory visit. This gives the staff time to evaluate his case for eligibility in person and determine if he has a strong basis to expect another year. If they decide he's in the same boat as Aguilar, they can move on. Nothing really lost, move to the next viable name on the list. If they feel the case is strong and he's likely to be eligible, you get a 6-4.5, 294-pound DT with SEC experience. Might as well see if there's actual hope here for the cost of a visit and a couple hours of the coaches' time.

Go watch his tape. He played his best games against the better teams. He’s a solid DT and would be a contributor here. He may not start but he’s big and strong enough to plug the middle (he at up space consistently against Texas) and he is extremely quick for a 300lber and can shift to edge in running downs as needed.

He’s not just a body he’s a guy with some good coaching and no expectations who can come in and give you good stats and can get pressure on the QB and take up multiple blockers.

If you are looking for a DT with a lot of tackles etc you won’t find many of those.

Well said. I’m very hopeful here as I think he’d be an instant impact guy inside. Not saying he’d start per se but I think he’d absolutely be high up in a rotation and be a strong contributor, which is what we’re looking for on the IDL to complement what we already have.

we are running ab 275 and 280 though with Utley and Campbell

Nate is 300 but hes pretty ineffective and Hobbs gets destroyed. Nobody knows if House can even play.

Hobbs is tall and he plays tall and weak.

Yep, and while PSU wasn’t #1 defense, they were still #25 in the country. If we had that this year we’re a playoff shoo in

Yup yup. Agreed.

Although, I do hope we get to all 300+ guys on the DL. Oregon’s DL was nothing but monsters it seems. Just for fun, can you pull their DL chart?
