Florida should be worried

So? They didn't care when you started one last year. Either you're a player for that game or you're not. Im hearing a bunch of rationalizing saying you're not. Fine.

My opinion hasn't changed since the end of last season. I have no national title delusions for this UF squad. I will be satisfied if we win the East and thrilled if we win the conference and make a BCS bowl.

What are your expectations for UT so I don't confuse them like you did mine?

Senseless. People make fun of your OOC schedule, and rightfully so. Nobody is making light of your conference schedule.

if florida goes 10-2, you will see many people say that florida didn't beat anyone.

fsu sucks. les miles is an idiot coach. the sec east is down. etc, etc, etc.

i see it all the time. the funny thing is to see it from tennessee and georgia people because.....

1. we are in the same division and have close to the same schedule.

and

2. tennessee and georgia are directly responsible for florida's schedule appearing not too difficult.

but, i can't tell you how many people tell me the 2009 florida team "stunk" and didn't beat anyone. went 13-1 and won a BCS bowl game, but we didn't beat anyone.

you may not agree and that's fine. but, trust me, i hear this crap every year.

if florida isn't 14-0, it's a failure and we underachieved. that's the company line.

What exactly does any of that do with our secondary supposedly being the weak link, which wasn't the case?

Nobodies arguing that are line backers or Dline is as good or better than pervious seasons(Our DT's are better, DE's are a healthy step below what we had), I'm simply pointing out that are secondary is very good, and has been good for 3 straight seasons. They weren't a liability.
Yes it was. The DLine ad linebackers were the strength. Teams relying on strength from the secondary get their asses handed to them. The number of pass defenders who can stop quality receivers is about 3. Great safeties can make the difference. Great college corners are almost always hype. Peterson is one of the few.

i hope florida should be worried. im making my first trip down to tennessee for the florida game and i am not a fan of florida or urban "crybaby" meyer. i really thought u guys had oregon last night. the d played really well in the first half.

No it wasn't. I've haven't missed a Gator game since 06, the only time our secondary was ever truly a liability was in 07. We've had an excellent secondary since 08, and much of the same players are still here.

I don't know about Patrick Peterson, but Janoris Jenkins is the real deal, and much like his predecessor, will be drafted in the first round. Second at the latest. Will Hill and Ahmad Black will also likely be drafted, Hill on the first day and Black on the second due to his size.

I was wondering when you would show up. You going to the game?

PS: you know that is a lie. Your OOC schedule is always laughable.

Section Z15, row 12...looking forward to it.

PS: when you play in the SEC you don't have to apologize for your schedule. Would I like some tougher opposition... sure, but in this league win your games and you will play for the big one.

according to a lot of people here, we don't play any good teams.

well, people will call alabama a tough game.

but, fsu, sc, georgia, lsu, etc, etc, etc. they all suck when they are on our schedule.

if they are on someone else's schedule, they are a quality opponent.

Sorry dude, but you have played Miami Ohio and South Florida. You haven't played Alabama, Georgia or Lsu yet. BTW, we play those guys too.

Say what you want, but you have not played a good team this year yet, and you guys have struggled.

Sub 500. You won't hear me overstating the greatness of any of our units. Guess I'm odd that way. You damn sure won't find me doing anything of that nature on an opponents board.

There's no defending our OCC. We were scared to play Miami, and we refuse to play outside of Florida. Our OCC needs a major upgrade.

I disnt say it was a liability. It was the weakest group on the field for the D. You eom because your front 7 was otherworldly fast, but could still stop the run.

Janoris Jenkins is the real deal like Haden was. Good college football player, overhyped by his fanbase. Peterson legitimately shuts down a side.

Bottom line, UT spent much of last season touting its secondary. It was solid - we got our asses kicked. At the collegiate level, secondary is flood insurance. Stop the run and win. Dont stop the run - lose.

i'm not thinking national title either. i am basically trying to say that there is nothing florida ever does to make other people back off......other than winning a national title.

here's what i mean.

if florida beats......

tenn. is that a quality win?
ky?, lsu?, miss state?, georgia?, vandy?, sc? fsu?

florida can go 11-1 and lose to bama and people will still say......i don't think florida is very good.

in closing, i would also like to point out that this kind of crap is why i have no problem with running up the score when the opportunity presents itself.

Agreed! I respect UT for playing Oregon and Alabama playing Penn St. Foley needs to get outside his comfort zone and start scheduling some home and home games with major competition.

Why? Makes no sense. It's pathetic, but you have a leg up in the beauty contest because the SEC gets that for you. The conference has been pretty lane outside the top two teams each year for a while. Essentially, win a couple tough games, play for the title. Why make that harder?

So it was kind of like being the dumbest kid in a honors course at Harvard?

Overhyped? Is that really the word you'd use to describe the#7 pick in last years draft?

I think Peterson's an overall better athlete, but I don't think he's a better cover corner than JJ.

Because I'm confident we'd beat teams like Miami and Notre Dame on a yearly basis. It'd be a cool thing to see.
