Really? Starting a BCS title game, as the weak link, tells us about their greatness? That's sensible.Offense is still looking for an identity. Demps is our only home run threat. Receivers are a work in progress. O-line looked much better.
Defense is looking better than the offense, but BPV thinks it sucks. Linebackers are the weak link due to inexperience. Secondary looks very good, but according to BPV they're overrated due to the level of competition. Nevermind our best CB and S started in the BCS title game a couple years ago, playing cupcakes cancels that out.
Special teams is a mixed bag. Our kicked is injured and inconsistent. Our punter is getting way too much work. Return game is very good. Not Brandon James good, but perhaps Jack Jackson or Keiwan Ratliff good.

Defense is looking better than the offense, but BPV thinks it sucks. Linebackers are the weak link due to inexperience in the middle. Secondary looks very good, but according to BPV they're overrated due to the level of competition they've played so far. Just because we got hammered by Oregon does not mean we will get hammered or even beat by Florida. Florida only wishes they had half the offense Oregon does. We had the game plan to stop Oregon. We had good enough players and our coaches had the right plan. We got tired because of their high tempo offense and our lack of depth. We just didn't have the players to roll in and out and stay fresh. We played with them for a half, until we got tired. Florida's offense is not high tempo and it's not complicated. Not sure whether we will beat Florida or not, but the Gator posters on this board that thinks they will destroy us just because Oregon did are mistaken.
Oh, so you're trying a new tack of implying that it was intentional. Now that is legit funny.
And, maybe. Can you name anyone from that line?

But I'm not talking about UT. All the hype about UF is of a national title picture nature. There are significant issues on D and they don't go away overnight or in a single half.

Tee Martin started at QB on our title team. If hecwas gettig the hype your guys are, I'd laugh at it.

Safeties leading the team in tackles is an absolute disaster, especially when the competition can't pass. Eventually, those safeties will have to help cover someone on other than obvious passing plays or center field style plays. Our secondary, with 3 veterans, is our strength. I very much doubt we'll be abused in the passing game.
I do think Bama will abuse us in the trenches, and will likely gash us for at least a 150 yards rushing, but outside of the Tide? I don't see it. Maybe SC, but Lattimore is every bit as young as our Dline.
Ahmad Black, a safety, is leading the team in tackles.
I don't think I've ever said that this Gator team is of that caliber. I think the current ranking -- # 8 -- is much closer to correct than where we started -- at #4. I've said on every occassion that I think we lose to Alabama twice.
Which means we win the East.
And I still think that is likely.
The weak link? They limited Sam Bradford and the highest scoring offense of all time to 14 points, and forced Bradford to throw 2 picks. He was held to 250 passing yards, one of his lowest totals of that season.
They opened up rated 4th and dropped to 5th. I'm suppose to know that you guys are aspiring to the SEC title game. Awesome. Y'all should look into Fulmer when you hire your new OC.

Again, my comments are relative to the hype and the best teams in the country type conversation. Top 5 squads should be talking about more than the SECe.

So? They didn't care when you started one last year. Either you're a player for that game or you're not. Im hearing a bunch of rationalizing saying you're not. Fine.We expect Bama to be the SEC favorite, and based on their #1 ranking the pollsters agree.

IMO, Florida should be between 20 - 25, no higher. They haven't lost, but they haven't looked good, and they have yet to play a good team.
Good Lord. The best player on that team is gone and the DLine was absolutely the difference. Same with OSU. DLine was simply too good and too fast for those teams. This year's team doesn't have that.

Senseless. People make fun of your OOC schedule, and rightfully so. Nobody is making light of your conference schedule.according to a lot of people here, we don't play any good teams.
well, people will call alabama a tough game.
but, fsu, sc, georgia, lsu, etc, etc, etc. they all suck when they are on our schedule.
if they are on someone else's schedule, they are a quality opponent.
Tebow is definitely gone but you do realize we still have 3 of the 4 defensive linemen who started the 2008 BCS Championship game?Good Lord. The best player on that team is gone and the DLine was absolutely the difference. Same with OSU. DLine was simply too good and too fast for those teams. This year's team doesn't have that.
