If Simms overthrows we are okay.

If he underthrows we are screwed.

Have you ever been on a narrow trail and someone said if you have to ditch, ditch into the side of the mountain? That is what Simms faces.

If he underthrows, we go off the cliff and their secondary goes for a TD.

If he overthrows? We are fine. Black has good leaping ability for a short guy but he is not Inspector Gadget and his arms cannot get a ball that is overthrown.

If you want to see a person who will make you believe in real time that he might be inspector gadget, overthrow Justin Hunter. If the ball is 3 feet over his head there is a good chance he goes up and gets it.

Whether its underthrown or overthrown balls you're worried about, either way Simms needs to play well. Alot of this rides on his shoulders. Poole is a horse, but Simms has to make that available for him.

Simms almost always throws high anyway. It works in our favor unless it's over the middle with the Safeties playing deep. That's unlikely, since they will probably stack the box. Simms needs to recognize where his 1 on 1 matchup is once they send the Safety up. Make'em pay dearly tommorrow for not respecting his gangsta.

You would be playing right into our hands if you try to go at our corners. Janoris is playing at a higher level than Haden was last year. Also Janoris and Black both have experience playing against tall WR i.e. Julio Jones and AJ Greene who are both superior to any WR's UT or UF has.

The best chance UT has is to try to run the ball and keep it close. Then pressure Brantley and try to force turnovers. No way can UT win by throwing it against our secondary. Bama gave everyone a blueprint on how to win. Line it up and out physical us, which is why I don't believe we will beat Bama this year.

It is not surprising that no one wants to admit on the UF side that you saw Black get handled on the outside the few times the QB from USF could get them.

You could try to pick on Black and Jenkins, but that would be a very dumb move. Despite Mike's assessment above, these two are in the right position to make plays consistently... Height has nothing to do with it. If you under throw, Janoris will defend it, if you over throw, that's where Ahmad is chillin'. As a Gator fan, I'd love for you to throw at those two... But if you want success, the other side is your better option.

I hope we don't pick on anyone. RUN THE BALL. We will be in trouble if we try to throw the ball 60 times again. Run the ball let them creap into the box run PA.

Say what you want, I would much rather try to get by Black or beat him away than Hill.

Unless you are always in zone, there will be times that a safety can be in man-to-man. Just depends on the offensive and defensive formations.

We play a 1-high defense... Normally it's Hill up top, but Ahmad filled in for the first two games. Our safeties are rarely ever locked up in man-to-man.

When/If UT's WR's develop the skill to use their size and athleticism, no one including UF will be able to stop them. Yes you faced Greene and Jones but last time I checked they didn't play on the same team. Neither played with a TE as good in the pass game as Stocker.

If these guys knew how to play at this level then you would have 4 or 5 guys over 6'3" with tremendous athletic ability. Hunter and Rogers are as fast if not faster than your CB's and faster than your S's.

Sorry but your saving grace on this one is UT's inexperience not your dominating talent.

We are not going to be allowed to run. Fla will stack the box.

We don't have a QB or WR corp that can pick apart UF's secondary....

Our coaches know this and also know that our offense has to stay on the field longer, so put yourself in the coaches' position and what do you come up with?

The only option is a new wrinkle. What that wrinkle is... who knows? Could be a wild vol, a sort of pistol formation, or maybe like last year, they realize since the QB can only use half the field, they roll him out to one side of the field (it worked for Crompton?)

Any way, I am convinced that we will see the Vols throw something new at the Gators.

I am not ready to give up on the run yet. Running the ball is about determination and discipline as much as anything else.

But UT does have to do something in the passing game to keep UF honest.

Thinking about the size advantage... I think I would have been drilling Hunter, Rogers, and Milton on two patterns all week- fade and skinny post with the exact same break point. Throwing those two patterns only requires a pre-snap read. They're timing patterns and relatively safe. They are 3 or 5 step drop patterns. Simms just has to make an easy throw to a spot... nothing hard.

They force S's to stay back. They are dangerous enough to thrwart blitzes and keep them from loading the box. With the speed of Hunter and Rogers, you only have to hit one big one in man2man to change the complexion of a game.

this pretty much sums it up. we cant abandon our strength and we cant rely on it either. scary. please have a big game Stocker.

That is a pretty big IF, if any of your WR's become as good of a player as Julio Jones or AJ Green let alone more than one.

My point is we have experience playing against bigger WR and it's never bothered us. We also play LSU every year and they always have big WR's. We get beat by teams that run it down our throat and are more physical.
