Florida RB Moody says Volunteers play 'a little dirty'

A little dirty," Moody said. "That's part of football. Whatever you can do to try to win, that's what the SEC's gonna try to do."

Moody declined to say exactly what the Volunteers did in fourth-ranked Florida's 30-6 victory in Knoxville last week. But the Southern California transfer said it was much different from high school football in Texas or college football on the West Coast.

"When you're in the pile, they're doing some things, trying to get you angry," he said.

Well at least the boys are trying:shades:

What boarding school did Moody come from? For Pete's sake, it's a known fact that if you're in a pile, there's three things to do.
1) Clench your cheeks
2) Cover your eyes if at all possible
3) Pray that a teammate is between your nuts and an opposing player

He probably wasn't used to playing real football on the USC practice squad.

That's because USC waits until the games to start throwing cheap shots. And what's the rest of the conference going to do, slap them?

My dad loves to tell the story of when he and his dad flew out for the Rose Bowl in 1970 or 1971 (Ohio State v Stanford). They were reading the L.A. Times with Jim Murray's column, which began something like, "Well, it's January 1 and you know what that means. It's time for those Midwestern ruffians to come on out and beat the snot out of our silver spoon babies."

I'm sure those Stanford kids can be real mean though. "Nice run there Thad. I hope you play cricket better than you elude a DB."

It's bad when it is completely obvious that your middle aged coach could dispose of every player on the team in a cage match.

It happens everywhere.

Our division did include an all-boys school. One time one of their guys, in plain sight of everyone, decided to rub our center's taint on the outside of the pile.

A "little" dirty is better then trying to take out knees. Or trying to tie double knots on the other team. Now that is low.
