Florida players respond to statements.

......Football, you are going up against a coaching juggernaut and I would not want to have to go through his teams to get to my major goals of an SEC title and National Championship. While UT just as a matter of odds will beat UF at some point in the future, there is no chance of it happening this year. Not with your team as it is constituted now.

Are we really going up against a coaching juggernaut or is he similar to Donavan in that he caught lighting in a bottle with a key player (Tebow instead of Noah)? We will see what a juggernaut he is next year.

Sidney, I've watched Tennessee football for 40 yrs, sat thru 12 straight loses to bama,7 straight against Ga. and still Fla. will never be as great as our Tennessee Vols. You can cover your BS all you want, you still will Never have the tradition that we have. There will be a day of reckoning for your beloved Gators, I promise you that!

I agree with everything you have to say. You have us beat on the tradition front, for whatever that is worth. They may give Waterford Crystal trophies out for winning the tradition title. Also, every dog will have its day, including your hound.

Sidney,

It's true your (gay)tors have 2 recent titles but you haven't been 13-0 to get either one. They are tarnished because you could not get through those seasons (or any other) undefeated. You were defeated each of those seasons. The VOLS never lost in our championship year and we laid claim as the BEST and ONLY undefeated team that year. Unless you win them all, you're not the best that year, because someone else BEAT you.

I am really enjoying this thread with all of its back and forth

me too. I find it amusing that a Gator fan would rather be here on a Vol message board than basking in the glory of his mighty Gators with his own kind. :birgits_giggle:.....must be pretty boring on the Fla. message boards.

Dangit man!! I just joined to get away from the gator trolls on the KNS boards!!! They sure do spend alot of time on these Vol sites for them not be worried about whats going on in Kamp Kiffin!!!! I hope this board does a better job controlling the trolls than KNS. :machgun:

P.S. I have seen how you boys treat some of the newcomers,I assure you I come in peace and am Orange through and through!!!

You could be right. So tell me who was better this year?

As far as a historical retrospective, I have co-signed on the fact that UT has a wonderful and rich history. Way back in '97 or '98 you had a very good year, excellent. You made the conference proud. Go back even further in history you had some really fine years. I particularly like the era before integration, you had some tremendous teams. UT and tradition and history go hand in hand:

-Rocky Top
-Blue Tick Hound
-The T
-Checkered endzone
-Johny Major (not going to mention how you did him in the end)
-Neyland
-Neyland Stadium
-VOL Navy
-Bama rivalry

UT is a storied program. You get no argument from me. I respect UT's history as well as I respect the Cumberland and their marvelous history.

Kiffin will win a national title before Meyer wins another one---mark it down. Kiffin's building a powerhouse, and Meyer will leave Uf in a couple of years for notre dame.

Welcome to you. :hi:

I have not noticed "gatorsidney" Trolling. There are a few rival fans on this board. For the most part we enjoy their thoughts, opinions, and friendly banter. Their presence is welcome. TROLLs are identified and dealt with (usually after we have had some fun with them).

My visit here will be episodic, just depending upon if there is something juicy in my opinion. It is way too early to get bogged down in bad blood, there will be plenty of time for that the weeks leading up to the game. The Kiffen stuff and the ire it stoked it Meyer and the Gators is juicy to me. Meyer is coach payback and he had nothing to pay UT back for, then low and behold Kiffin.

It is all great stuff. I stated elsewhere he has made a game with shrinking to no national relevancy a must see game now. After years of lopsided wins the game lost all of its cache. Now press credential for the swamp will be at a record high. The players who by their own admission were starting to sleep on UT have eyes wide awake, and the eyes of the nation will be focused on the matchup because of the things Kiffin has said. But, I will be leaving you soon to enjoy your exciting off season.

As much as I hate UF and love UT... you need to put down the pipe.

UF is loaded THIS year and will be the odds on favorite to win the BCS. If the unlikely of unlikely's happens UT has enough talent to challenge for the SEC... but that requires a near miracle in G'ville and then for UF to stumble a couple more times.

After this year, UT's talent will dip for a year or two. The last two classes have been small. 07 was small and weak comparatively. Practically the whole OL will be gone plus Cottam and Hardesty. The D will lose McCoy, Big Dan, Berry, Wes Brown, Morley, and possibly Walker if he has the kind of year his spring suggests.

BTW, the disparity in talent puts the pressure on Meyer and UF. IF UT keeps it close then CLK is instantly a success. Recruits will take notice and the media will start talking the Vols up.

I don't usually believe in moral victories... but a closer than expected loss would have tremendous value to Kiffin.

I never thought I would see the day a VOL fan in the spring would talk about keeping it close. Even when Spurrier was dump trucking UT on a regular, UT fans were undaunted. Your off season smack would be about how much UT was going to beat UF, now its keeping it close, moral victories, and media impressions.

Don't read more into than you should. I've consistently argued that UT DOES have enough talent to win if the coaches are as good as advertised and the players stay healthy.

We've been talking about UT getting blown out, right? Doesn't everyone in the country believe that will happen? Doesn't everyone believe that Meyer will run it up?

UT could win... That would make a huge impression on recruits not to mention the media. But the value of a close loss in G'ville to the long term success of the program is almost as great. It will accelerate the date when UT beats UF again.

Oh and by the bye.... It could also factor into Meyer's decision concerning the ND job should it come open. Meyer is a narcissist. If something threatens him... he'll sell UF out in an instant.

If I were a Gator fan, I'd be very happy with what CLK is bringing to the table. Obviously, smacking one's rivals around is fun, but it could get old without much resistance. He is making things more interesting. Even if UF does smash us this year, he has made the rivalry a little more heated.

Frankly, I don't think most people in the country think about the UF Florida game and what the score will be. Having said that, I think VOL fan knows it can get out of hand, but is optimistic the new staff can make it a fight. Gator fan has it booked based on the coach, the talent, and the Kiffin incentive that it is going to be a brass knuckle beat down. I imagine the result will be somewhere in between. I just miss the days when VOL fan was a lot more positive about winning. Certain and willing to be the farm on it. That VOL fan does not exist anymore, at least not at this time.

Agreed 100%.

I don't see us winning. I see us losing by 2-3 scores but I could see it being alot closer or alot worse. It all depends on what we can get out of our players between now and then, how UF starts the season, the weather, injuries, and other intangibles.

I love how they say " We have something coming" because Kiffin said those comments lol. I don't think it will be worse than what happened in the swamp 2 years ago. I mean seriously. We have a good D. IMO top 3 in the SEC. I don't think they will score more than the 50 they scored. We held them to 30 last year. With some cupcake give aways. I'm not scared 1 bit. Bring those SOB's on! haha sorry got into it!

Good post. If your visits depend on something juicy to discuss then I hope Kiffin keeps it juicy. :hi:

It is time for me to enjoy the news coming out of spring ball, wait on the arrival and integration of the freshman, and see which player come back after a spring and a summer of training 15 lbs bigger and .15 seconds faster. The right after you play your non-conference heavyweight, then it will be time to turn my attention back to VOL fan. I can't imagine Lane being able to come up with anymore bombs before then
