Florida players respond to statements.

I do not think that there is any shame this year in losing to UF because UF is going to be favored, and pretty heavily, in all of their games. In a sense, no one has anything to lose in playing the Gators this year.

I do give Kiffin credit for re-energizing the fan base and gearing up a good staff and recruiting some top notch guys. Absolutely.

But UT was so far behind, its going to take more than a handful of 5 star guys to get back to being competitive. And I do want to see how he handles the pressure and scrutiny that is going to come with some setbacks, as are inevitable.

jake, I know you are willing to give the man the 3 years it is going to take to get back into the mix. Not so sure everyone else will be that patient.

actually just got done looking at the lines. rod wilks is favored by 3 touchdowns against fla.

that's the great thing about this....it doesn't matter how patient i am or anyone else is for that matter....in case anyone hasn't notice, i don't get the feeling Kiffin has the attitude of "wait and see".

his impatience is probably the best thing we have going for us, cause i don't think he plans on it taking 3 years or more. he wants to win now and he wants to put together a team capable of competing at top 10 levels again.

and if he keeps recruiting like he has shown so far, he may only be one class away from doing that.

when you consider the impact FR and SO kids have had at places like FL and Bama et al, there's absolutely no reason not to think similar happenings aren't impossible in Knoxville.

It seems to me that a coach would have more to worry about than a 5-7 team talking about their coach
:) yeah FL....don't lose that game. if anything, and i know the standard repsonse to this, but the reality is the pressure is on FL. they were supposed to beat our brains out anyway.

Florida has that issue with everyone this year because they are expected to go undefeated. Anything short of that will be seen in some circles as an unsuccessful season.

Florida has never gone unbeaten, untied, in their entire school history. Good Luck.

I love the argument that UT is so far behind in talent. We have much more talent than Bama had two years ago. Took Saban two years to get them back into the SECCG and BCS. Talent is not what this team has been missing. I'm not saying they are on the same level as UF or LSU by any means, but they are plenty talented. This team has been lacking discipline, motivation, and conditioning. Seems to me we've picked that up pretty quickly. I will say that we could use a few more OL, but every team has holes, even the defending NCs.

and now they've made it that much more important with the way they've reacted to the TN coach.

You are so right about his impatience. It's his best quality. Love the sense of urgency. It was like when he got on campus and went to work immediately. Got Monte, Orgeron, Gran, Thompson, Chaney, Cregg, and others. Then he went to work and got Bryce Brown, Nukeese, Nyshier, Askew, Marsalis, Oku, Jansen, Green, and all the other studs in the class. He has been one hell of a productive guy since he got there. He knows he needs to win and win now. LOVE it. The fire is back guys!

I love the fact too that on his resume he has had the number 1 recruiting class every year he was recruiting coordinator at USCsr/USCheavy. Expect great things and soon. He has delivered everything he has promised and he has been at the helm for 4 months.

Scary talk there. Here's to hoping tebag takes one on the kneecap in the first quarter. Yeah i'd play dirty with these boys, they obviously want a war, give it to them.

Kiffen has stirred up a hornets nest with the Gator players. The hitting that is going to take place in that game is going to be awesome. Think Haden's hit on your QB; Wright's hit on Kent; or all the hits on running backs that caused fumbles over the years in the UF UT game; or the earholing Alex Brown did to Tee Martin. Take all of those hits and expect them in this game.

When Meyer has a vendetta against a coach and team it ain't pretty. There will be no let up. With the score 53 to 21 with 15 seconds left in the game and the gators on the UT 6, Meyer's is going to throw it in to hang 60 on your team.

Talk about writing checks his team's butt's have to cash? Spikes, Haden, Wright, Hill, Dunlap are going to have a field day laying out Vols.

There was never any doubt that I hate FL but reading this crap makes it worse. Who knows they think we suck and aren't a threat, maybe that'll get their guard down a little, and we'll walk out of the swamp with a win, if not then fine, watch your back in Sept. 09 or 10. You won't have Tebow (which I hate even saying or typing that name) and we will have a top QB recruit then run your mouth gators! And if we aren't a threat why is our Coach's quotes hanging in their locker room!

Meier doesn't scare Kiffin. Get used to it.

That's fine, Run those chompers...In a morbid way I kind of hope Meyer does try something foolish like running up the score on Coach Kiffin because then there will be no excuses when the time comes and Kiffin runs up the score on UF....Remember dummy, We play UF EVERY YEAR....And if for one minute you don't think Kiffin would not try running up the score on UF, just take a look at some of his USC offenses and the scores they laid out on some teams....They scored 70 on Arkansas one year, So remember, What comes around goes around...This could easily turn into the most hated rivalry in college football....I just love the fact that Coach K is in the Gators head so much :eek:lol:

Yep, The closest they have ever come to a perfect record was in 1980...They went 0-10-1 :eek:lol: That darn tie with GT ruined it for them.
