Honestly, SEC MD are always a clown show but I have noticed that even more so than usual Florida seems to be taking even more shots at Tennessee.

Obviously, they have had our number for 11 years now and I have been pretty outspoken that they have no reason to be nervous. However, it seems like Florida is going out of their way, more so than usual, to take shots at UT when they can.

Jarrad Davis: "Tennessee is always one of the funnest games of the year. Because we win." (Nice English!)

Jalen Tabor: "12 in a row against the Vols? No doubt."

I'm starting to be converted that maybe Florida is actually more nervous this year than I thought. Haven't seen this much trash talk from them consistently in years.

Nothing unusual for Florida except they think we are more worthy of trash talk, where as before we have been a Vandy or Kentucky team to them.

We've said the same thing about 3-4 years in a row now. It's no different. It could be you're just reading into it more.

We should win, and that's the only thing that will shut them up.

I don't think they see us that badly, it's just that this was a forced rivalry because of the division split, and for the most part it hasn't really been a rivalry.

Had the outcomes been more even, or if we whipped them about 6-7 years in a row, they'd probably care about us more.

Wishful thinking. Until that 11-0 comes down quite a bit, they'll still run their yap.

Well it will shut them up for a week at least. I agree we need to get a real streak going. Other than the first 10 games in the series from 1000 years ago, we've only won 2 in a row.

Oh I know this is nothing new for them, but it has just seemed that they have had much more of an interest than normal in taking shots at us. Usually teams that stay quiet are the ones you have to worry about.

Teams that feel the need to run their mouth are usually the ones that are a little more insecure in their capabilities.

My first VN post. I am married to a Gator and her Gator family. In the 11 years I have known her, we have never beaten them. Please Butch, I implore you, put a stop this year (and hereafter) to the madness.

Welcome to the board. The madness definitely needs to end.

Does McElwain come off as unintelligent? It may also be he's a little pompous?

I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's bordering the same Dooley/Kiffin line. Obviously, McElwain wins though.

Probably the teeth. He could have the highest IQ in the world and the teeth would still make people think he was dumb as a brick.

No mercy. If we don't run over these turds like a damn freight train and then back up and do it again, I'm going to be massively disappointed.

Didn't Dooley do a little talkin himself down there? Something along the lines of "Y'all won't have Tennessee to kick around any more." And then he proceeded to get kicked around by everyone.

Let's hope this rings true for Florida this year. Let them talk. They talk a good game. Tennessee will play the good game.

Oh, I disagree with that. There wasn't a closer series in the SEC from 1998-2006 than Tenn/Fla. Also, since 1998 there have been 3 games decided by one point (most of any series in the SEC) and 7 games decided by 3 points or less (also most of any series in the SEC).

I will tell you all what is going on here.

These guys are basically tired of hearing they are going to suck.

To add insult to injury, where are a lot of people showing their love. To Tennessee. To a school they've beaten 11 years in a row.

It's the age old disrespect stuff.

I will tell you that they've been fed this all offseason.

Don't worry. This team is going to be phenomenal.

I hope you're right. It's hard to put into words but this series is kinda like a road rage fued. Heck today at media days McElwain said very snobbishly in response to the vols gators rivalry " you'll have to ask Tennessee about that". They've earned the right to be aristocraticly rude to the Vols, and the only cure is to win. Win the whole game not just 3.75 quarters, closer mentality.

Agree with one of the previous posts -- it ain't a rivalry if you don't win. My Gator wife and family see Georgia as the rivalry, not the Vols. They own us -- for now.
