Florida or Vandy

The last two games will be tougher than they should be.. Can't really take anything from UK beating Florida, they'll play much better in the sewer.. Vandy on the other hand will run up and down the field if they don't spy Pavia every single play of the game. It will be tough to end up 9-3 but that has to be the goal. They have to play cleaner football than what they've seen so far to get there.

Now, let me just preference by saying, I think we'll beat NMS, Florida, and vAndy. But just as an exercise, assuming we win at NMS, if we had to split, who would you choose to beat? I know, Florida has been a thorn for decades, but vAndy?? I despise Pavia--just as a person. I'd live with the Florida curse a little longer just to kill any hope vAndy fans have. What about you?
Well that’s easy for me. I lost countless bets and bragging rights in the 90s every time we played Florida. So beating the gators at the swamp would be a good wrap up of this up and down season! And if they did that maybe just maybe they can neutralize the Pavia majic and beat them as well finishing 9-3 would at least make us respectable.

I will take 51% (just enough) to barely beat Florida, then 51% (just enough) to barely beat Vandy. And those extra 2% that your original question didn't give us, I'll pay like $1,000 for it. Others can pitch in, too, if they want.

We gotta beat them both.

Go Vols!

Beat UF is the only real answer here. There is ZERO reason we should lose to them. We are better than them in every facet of the game. We have better coaching. We have better players. And they are not playing motivated.

We should beat Vandy too. But Vandy is playing tough and they have something to play for. So that shouldn't be an easy win, even at home. You can explain away a loss like this. But there is no explaining away a loss to UF right now. That's a really bad football team.

Geez cant believe I’m saying this but gun to my head I’d rather beat Vandy this year. A loss in the Swamp would be a major letdown but the thought of losing to Vandy and them making the playoffs while we go to the CiTrUs Bowl makes me cringe like no other. Especially on our home field.

That is a very difficult question to answer. It's like asking would I prefer to die from cancer or a heart attack. One thing I have learned this morning, though, is that the negas think we lose both games and would like to see Heupel terminated when it happens.

IMO if we lose any more games it's should b cause to immediately renegotiate Heupel's contract lower.

Florida is HORRIBLE. and Vandy is Vandy. look at how many coaches get fired after losing to Vandy. it's simply unexplainable and gross neglegence to lose to that team.

we have absolutely no business going less than 9-3

This choice comes down to geography. There aren't many Vandy fans (period) but around the Nashville area there are enough that if you live, work and attend church with them it is a rather easy decision. TN simply cannot lose to Vandy in football, at home and it be acceptable - ever! I think it should be grounds for immediate termination (jk)!

I think we could lose both games and I won't have any say as to whether Heupel is terminated or given a life-time contract. Based on the actual on-field performance of the Vols this year + results in the swamp + Vandy's performance --- why is it so "nega" to have little confidence about these two games?

On the flip side, if TN wins both games I will be extremely positive about the job Heupel has done to finish the season.

I think the curse and psychological damage is mainly to us fans. I don’t think our current players would or should put much into there being a curse (at least I hope not)
You would think it doesn’t matter to the players or coaches today yet we get the same result (forget how to play football) every time we go to the swamp coach after coach, player after player.

Because it is an overreaction based on emotions. That and I think some people would prefer being "right" to our team having success. Also, that comment was a little bit tongue in cheek. The same posters post the same things in any and every thread they come across. I mean, I get it Flip Daddy, you think our team is god awful and probably hope we lose to both Florida and Vandy so you can post incessantly about how you tried to tell everyone and nobody would listen to your sage wisdom.

The Vols' season is essentially over. I would like to see at least one team from the State make the CFP. Ergo, I would like to see Vandy win out. Memphis blew their chance this past weekend. Vandy is a better team than the Vols, so I can accept a loss to them. The Vols are a better team than the 'Gators, so a loss to them, even in the Swamp, is unpalatable.

It looks like the State of Texas will get 3 teams in ('horns, Tech and aTm). That is disgusting.

Unfortunately, we are accustomed to losing to UF. Losing to Vandy would be terrible for so many reasons and potentially impacts recruiting (especially in state). I despite UF, but at least historically for the past 40 years or so, that game is a toss up. Vandy has been the doormat of the SEC forever and we just can't lose to our little brother.

Vandy is not Vandy. Vandy is a top 15 team. Y'all need to get over the name and look at the substance.

The only way Texas gets in is if they win at least one and probably both of @Georgia and vs A&M.

Just speaking for myself, I don't ever hope the Vols lose even if my posts are pessimistic about our chances. Too many times as a Vol fan I've expected great wins only to be disappointed. So when I see the posts claiming Vols will "boat race" or "curb stomp" team X when it's based on nothing but pure homerism, I try to balance it with some reality. I'd rather be wrong about predicting a loss than way wrong about predicting a huge win. We all fan differently.

Danny White will probably give him another huge raise. Agree with you, we should not lose either game.

You gotta beat Vandy and crush the playoff dreams. There is no way we can take a loss to Vandy at home of all places.

With everything going on in FL right now, I won down there really means nothing unfortunately. If we go there and let that team beat us, we have a whole other bag of problems no one wants to talk about.
