Well that’s easy for me. I lost countless bets and bragging rights in the 90s every time we played Florida. So beating the gators at the swamp would be a good wrap up of this up and down season! And if they did that maybe just maybe they can neutralize the Pavia majic and beat them as well finishing 9-3 would at least make us respectable. Now, let me just preference by saying, I think we'll beat NMS, Florida, and vAndy. But just as an exercise, assuming we win at NMS, if we had to split, who would you choose to beat? I know, Florida has been a thorn for decades, but vAndy?? I despise Pavia--just as a person. I'd live with the Florida curse a little longer just to kill any hope vAndy fans have. What about you?
I think we could lose both games and I won't have any say as to whether Heupel is terminated or given a life-time contract. Based on the actual on-field performance of the Vols this year + results in the swamp + Vandy's performance --- why is it so "nega" to have little confidence about these two games? That is a very difficult question to answer. It's like asking would I prefer to die from cancer or a heart attack. One thing I have learned this morning, though, is that the negas think we lose both games and would like to see Heupel terminated when it happens.
You would think it doesn’t matter to the players or coaches today yet we get the same result (forget how to play football) every time we go to the swamp coach after coach, player after player.I think the curse and psychological damage is mainly to us fans. I don’t think our current players would or should put much into there being a curse (at least I hope not)
Because it is an overreaction based on emotions. That and I think some people would prefer being "right" to our team having success. Also, that comment was a little bit tongue in cheek. The same posters post the same things in any and every thread they come across. I mean, I get it Flip Daddy, you think our team is god awful and probably hope we lose to both Florida and Vandy so you can post incessantly about how you tried to tell everyone and nobody would listen to your sage wisdom.I think we could lose both games and I won't have any say as to whether Heupel is terminated or given a life-time contract. On the flip side, if TN wins both games I will be extremely positive about the job Heupel has done to finish the season.
The Vols' season is essentially over. I would like to see at least one team from the State make the CFP. Ergo, I would like to see Vandy win out. Memphis blew their chance this past weekend. Vandy is a better team than the Vols, so I can accept a loss to them. The Vols are a better team than the 'Gators, so a loss to them, even in the Swamp, is unpalatable. Now, let me just preference by saying, I think we'll beat NMS, Florida, and vAndy. Vandy is not Vandy. Vandy is a top 15 team. Y'all need to get over the name and look at the substance.IMO if we lose any more games it's should b cause to immediately renegotiate Heupel's contract lower.
Florida is HORRIBLE. and Vandy is Vandy. look at how many coaches get fired after losing to Vandy. it's simply unexplainable and gross neglegence to lose to that team.
we have absolutely no business going less than 9-3
The only way Texas gets in is if they win at least one and probably both of @Georgia and vs A&M.The Vols' season is essentially over. It looks like the State of Texas will get 3 teams in ('horns, Tech and aTm). That is disgusting.
Just speaking for myself, I don't ever hope the Vols lose even if my posts are pessimistic about our chances. Too many times as a Vol fan I've expected great wins only to be disappointed. So when I see the posts claiming Vols will "boat race" or "curb stomp" team X when it's based on nothing but pure homerism, I try to balance it with some reality. I'd rather be wrong about predicting a loss than way wrong about predicting a huge win. We all fan differently.Because it is an overreaction based on emotions. Danny White will probably give him another huge raise. Agree with you, we should not lose either game.IMO if we lose any more games it's should b cause to immediately renegotiate Heupel's contract lower.
