Florida or Alabama? Who would you rather beat?

Speaking of which, the 1996 Tennessee vs Alabama game just ended on CSTV and is replaying at 1 am.

I personnally agree with that statement. The history goes back with Bama more than Florida until recent years. Florida game def means more though.

It was bama for awhile, but watching the games and working in a sports store dealing with fans from all teams. My hatred of Florida has surpassed Bama

Were still gonna win. We won last year with 5 key players out.

It's universal: fans of all teams don't understand that last year does not necessarily equal this year in sports. Do you honestly think that if last year's Tennessee team and Alabama team lined up and played a series of 10 games, Alabama would win them all?

With the way DJ Hall massacred Chavis' defense? They just might.

I mean, you'd think that after 8-9 catches and 100 something yards a defensive coordinator might make an adjustment or two.

You'd think.......

Hell, when the defense did stop them on 3rd down, the players bailed them out with dead ball penalties that ended up accounting for 3 tds.

anyway to the topic at hand.

Alabama I despised more than any other team up until about 93, then it was pretty much a wash between Florida and Bama til we started beating Bama every year but still couldnt get past Spurrier's Gators.

When I think of Florida/Tennessee in the nineties I think of one play. Joey Kent getting absolutely destroyed by one of Florida's safeties...

Beating UF in 98 & 01, and beating Bama 41-14 are all pretty sweet, but Bama was starting to decline and I dont think they were ranked when we played them, so the Florida games meant a little more to me. UT was supposed to beat Bama that year, Florida 98' on the other hand was supposed have their greatest team ever and we had no chance to win.

Ive heard a couple of mentions about UGA, I didnt even consider them a rival until the last couple of months.

Either way im for whoever is playing against either, unless they are playing against each other then I hope for a Tide victory for the simple fact it will help us out in the East.

Got a question about another subject....Why can't OU play Nebraska every year, id like to see that rivalry renewed. I remember those dirtbags at ESPN had a poll about 5-10 years back and that was voted as the best rivalry of all time

But DJ Hall was just a remarkable player. He was a finalist for the Heisman and Biletnikoff awards and was one of the top 3 receivers selected in the draft this year... How could you expect Chavis to stop a guy with that kind of talent?

I have never considered Georgia a rivalry game myself. The only Georgia games that sting a little for most Tennessee fans are 2001 and 1980.

Bamma, always Bamma, will always be Bamma.
Florida is a team in the SECE, they are automatically a rival. Bamma will always be the bigger rival.

Bama is UT's biggest rival. I would rather UT beat Florida this year, not because it means more but because Fulmer is 0-3 against Meyer and UT lost by 39 last year.

That would be nice, I just want to beat Tebow. You know he invented football. Just ask these Gator Fans down here, they'll tell you that.:eek:hmy:

BAMA is #1. Florida is #2. Georgia is.....well.....#3. Stupid tide fans will come out of the woodwork if they have a winning season. They'll be dusting off their crimson that's been in the attic for 15 years and saying they've always loved Alabama. "You know we've won 3434523878237 National Championships and 32 SEC Championships." "The ghost of the Bear still roams the stadium, at night you can hear him giving 'em **ll." Geniuses I tell you. Hopefully we have a few years before that happens. Hell, I hope they lose every game.....by 1000 points.

That sums it up pretty well right there.

"A little"? You clearly don't ever come down here. Vol fans in Atlanta still hear about the hobnailed boot game all the freaking time.

And I take it 2003 didn't bother you? 41-14 after the Clausen fumble went the other way for a touchdown right before halftime?

Absolutely no question. It is Alabama by a longshot. Hatred for Florida doesn't make them our biggest rival. Florida and UT were the best teams in the SEC from the early nineties until this century, but that is it.

Alabama, Alabama and lets see...ALABAMA!....Florida is nothing more than a pimple on our butts...Newer fans will say Florida but old school guys like me and just the incredible history between the two schools know that there is no time better than the 3rd saturday in October...I get cold chills every year when that game approaches...Florida I just get mad and hope we beat the living hell out of em so We can take our rightful place in 1st in the SEC east...UF is a pain but Bama is like getting a tooth pulled without numbing it first lol

I stay in Alabama. So I will say Bammer. But I hate Florida a little bit more. For one Fulmer can't beat them. Another thing is we always give up a lot of points to them. I'm an official Gator Hater.

I don't know what Bammers are going to do when Fulmer's gone. He's one of the main reasons they hate us so much.
