Oh man, Me and your buddy was carrying the same goalpost because thats where we ended up at, The Longbranch...We wrapped part of the post around a telephone phone and did everything We could to break that thing and a cop came over and we thought we were in trouble and he said, Guys, in order to break that thing your gonna need teamwork!:eek:lol: Hell he helped us...God the memories from that day and night...We ended up at the last lap drunker than sailors and raising more hell than most...Stayed out of trouble thank god and made mor new friends than I had in my entire life...Now heres a neat part of that story, at the last lap that night a bunch of Alabama fans came in and of course everybody started taunting them and they laughed and taunted back and in one of the classiest moves I have ever seen, the Bama fans stood up and toasted our victory and wished us luck the rest of the year and they would see us next time...That always makes me smile when I think of that moment...I have never had that same experince with Florida fans....Never

Damn what a small world. David (nicknamed Duck) ended up with about a 18 inch piece....he had the front page of the Sunday paper framed with the piece mounded underneath it. Duck died two years ago this June....a diehard fan-the family had a Bagpiper play Rocky Top at the cemetery to see him off.

Normally, I'd say the Gators so I don't have to listen to my friends crap all year but ......I'd rather beat whoever is ranked higher that year.

Do you think Bama suffers through kind of the same thing the Nation does? What I mean by that is there is a group of fans who were raised to hate Auburn, lost to Auburn, and continue to hate them more than us every year no matter what. Then comes a fresh generation who knows nothing about the wars, the bloodlettings, the scandals with Auburn and lives through the loses to us and therefore hates Tennessee more.

Seems rational to me but I think this changes over time with every school. Neyland was hired to beat Vandy. He retired and The Bear took over......grrrr:cray:

I think Bama and Auburn will always hate each other worse than anyone else

especially now with Saban, and his contract, every Auburn win will just raise the bar on the intensity, it's at 6 in a row now

If you care at all about winning a championship, the answer has to be the Gators. If you are a long time fan and remember the beat down we received for most of the 70's and the first half of the 80's, i can understand wanting to beat the Tide.

But let's be honest, our biggest rival right now is Florida. Once Alabama returns to form (which they will), then it will be a toss up again.

Deffinatly Florida since I live here and all Florida fans are dicks and I hate them. O and when Tennessee played Pen State a couple years ago in Tampa and I swear to god there was a lot of Florida fans cheering for Pen State and tahst why I hate them because I go for all SEC teams against the big ten.

I think it's more important for our SEC title run to beat Florida but it's way more fun to me to beat the Bammers.

Most Bammers would say we're their bigger rival over Auburn. For giggles :birgits_giggle:, check out this thread on a Bammer blog. It's funny to see how people can make fun of two teams that have owned them for the past 10-15 years.

Florida, b/c it is in our division.
In the last 10 years or so, the UT- BAMA game have lost it's desire to be the game of the year.

I think that it depends on how old someone is personally. It seems like people that have been around UT football a while tend to think that Bama is our biggest rival hands down. I would say for the people in college right now, it would be Florida because that is the series that has been the most competitive over the last 10-15 years, while we've rolled over Bama during that time period.

I personally think Florida though.
