Florida Looks Beatable

I don’t know why some fans are saying we don’t even have a chance. If we come out and play hard and get some breaks, I think we could win. Obviously we could end up getting blasted, but there’s definitely a chance.

Anything is possible but I believe it is 10% or less. I just hope we can be competitive and stop being viewed as a joke. The worst thing that can happen to UT is to lose the momentum in recruiting which will seal our fate on the program ever reaching the level Vol fans hope for.

I dont want to jinx it, but if we make even more strides next week like we did today.....I think Florida is beatable (not saying we win), but I think we will could put ourselves in a good place going into the late 4th quarter.

They just need to concentrate on scoring more points than Florida. Doing that greatly increases their chances of winning.

This fanbase is bipolar I swear it is..... Overreact to loo, overreact to win. Please help us

Florida is beatable, Kentucky backed off the pressure as soon as florida put in the backup. I guess they were scared after losing another safety. Never play scared against florida, always play aggressive. The few times they put pressure on Trask he threw balls away and nearly had one picked. Kentucky outplayed them until the middle of the 4th quarter and they went into a shell. If our players believe they can win, they can win. We have to go play our best game to date, I think we are primed to do that. GBO!
Kentucky played Fulmer/Chavis ball....let off steam especially after the back up safety got hurt. They played not to lose zone defense and quit aggressive play calling to actually win.

They should have kicked a FG instead I f going for it on 4th and 1 too. Kentucky should have 3 W’s in a row against Florida like we should’ve with Butch but they coached scared at key points in the game.

That’s the difference between Meyer/Saban/Dabo/Spurrier(in his prime)/Bob Stoops/Smart vs average coaches...they are sharks smelling blood and keep killing until the clock strikes 00:00...it’s the other team’s job to stop them not them stopping themselves.

People still bang on Mullen, yet all he did was go on the road and come from behind with back up QB for the conference win. I don’t think we win, but I bet our win gave our guys enough confidence to keep it close in the 4th

We have beat these guys exactly once since 2004 we aren’t beating them again Saturday. Hope everybody enjoyed the big win over UTC yesterday because we are about to start a 5 game losing streak starting this Saturday.

TN has a reasonable shot at.500 over the next 6. Win 2 of the last 3 and TN goes bowling. 6 wins attainable, 8 if the first 2 had been Ws.

Of course they are beatable, and if this team puts together a game like the Auburn game last year we can beat them now do I expect us to do that no, no I don't but I will not be surprised if we do win

So a win against an FCS team translates into a victory in Gainesville?

As much as I would enjoy it, the odds of it happening are slim. Very slim.
You may want to reread the post that was responding to. It was a valid point that your apparently didn't get.

I'm going to go on record as saying we beat Florida. I think they're overrated, they're not a top ten team. We'll put together a sixty minute game and take this one GB🍊

Tell Jauan Jennings we can't beat Florida. He does believe it, and has seen it.

I have no doubt he felt the same about Ga State and BYU. It doesn't change the reality of the last 10+ years where all these other teams have win streaks over us. Until we beat them your talk and Jauan Jennings heart don't matter.

The ironic thing is that the last ten years have less bearing on the game than Jennings heart. I doubt we win, but the loss won't be because previous teams lost.

The message was clear and the threads following UTs and Florida's win came as expected.

Just because someone doesn't agree with your opinion doesn't make you wrong, except in this case.

He was pointing out the fallacy of your point that our history of losses to backups will equate to a loss this year. That's a fallacious argument. Your arrogant response in the face of such logic just looks ridiculous.

We probably lose Saturday, but not because of what previous teams have done. It'll be due to what this team can't do.

That seems to be the point you missed, and it's a valid point.

Against UF back ups, the series is not in UTs favor.
He was right. You live in the past too much. The present will be why we most likely lose.

Just because you have an opinion doesn't make it worth the time it took to post it.

If you don't believe past performances have an impact on the current match ups then you haven't been paying attention. From a psychological standpoint alone, the opponent coming into a hostile road environment with a history of losing to the opposition does not help said team.

Factor that along with once a few big plays are made against that team and they're down by 7 or 14, the old "here we go again" mentality appears and can be disastrous if senior leadership is missing.

Since 1992, when both teams entered the eastern division of the SEC, Tennessee has won only 6 times against Florida. Six. Over a period of 27 seasons. In several of those contests, Tennessee had more talent on the field than Florida.

History is not on our side.

I agree with that percentage... I Don’t think it’s likely, but it’s definitely possible. It would be huge for us
