It is not about which ones we could get, it is about which ones we are actually interested in.

And which ones we need. Players that fit our system are more important. Bama and Oregon probably don't see each other on the recruiting trail very often but it's clear that they can both recruit players that fit their systems very well.

So out of the players in the state we only need 3 and 2 of those nobody wants , Mathers and Robinson at tailback must not fit our system

Santos is really the only one on that list that we really went after. And I do believe if he would have commited at the time we were recruiting him we would have taken his commit. Just another player we waited to long for.IMO

O'Brien not really sure if he ever had a commitable offer to be honest.

Mathers we did want, but he never had any interest in Tennessee. It was not because of anything that our staff did, he just did not like it. In regards to Robinson, our staff never seemed to show him much interest, so they obviously either thought he did not fit our system or think that he is good enough. As far as the ones we are taking on scholarship, they are not players that nobody wanted. Bowles is a top 150 player that a lot of people wanted. Blanc while not a highly rated player, had both UT and Virginia Tech offers, and the staff had the chance to evaluate him multiple times at camp against elite players. To this point the staff has not shown us a reason to doubt there talent evaluation.

Really?

I read this thread as tacit condescension, a comment on how Dooley can't out-recruit "the big 4" for players that would actually be worthy of such consideration.

Yeah, I took it that way too. Considering the source.

Exactly. This is going to turn into a Dooley didn't beat any team of note for any of these recruits type thread.

Yup. What else could one expect out of DJ based on his post history.

Pretty sure Bama would've taken a commitment from O'Brien, but others were definitely ahead of Santos on Bama's board.

Bama has a studly class of LBs coming in. Having said that - if we can get one of Perkins/r brown/maybe b brown. Then I will be quite pleased with our LB haul

We wanted Croom at TE and obviously he wanted to play WR. I don't think we offered any of the GA kids you have committed and I don't think we went after any of the other players you have committed.

Jason's mom is NOTa UGA fan by any means.

the fact that georgia didnt offer Croom just goes to show you how bad that program is right now. Best wr in the state and they dont offer him. They will regret that one.

Be cautious of coaches who visit your kids at school and want to pull them out of the classroom to say "HI". As a parent it tells you that you have NO respect for education, and Croom's mama don't play that if you know anything about her.:loco::machgun::nono::nono::nono::nono::bash:

I really didnt think it matters to Jason where he plays as long as he plays football. Just like UT had the conversation of the possibility if he grows out of being a WR into a TE. Respect is everything. There's a way to deal with anybody that you care about as a person and not a commodity.

IMO IMO IMO, but who I am I to judge?

I have never seen a UGA fan admit they lost out on a recruit. It is always that they never wanted/offered said recruit.

Well, in defense of UGAInsider... That's my secret fan insider for real who has followed Jason for quite some time. He's not just any random person stalking the UT board....lol

He's actually one who really gives a damn about what happens to the recruits

The other thing regarding Jason... Many of the UGA fans wanted an offer for him.... It was a coaching matter that hindered that offer and by the time they were prepared....we had already committed and preparing for the announcement to UT

I appreciate your kind words. We have known about Jason for quite sometime. I actually live very close to your district. We feel really proud whenever some of our local kids earn schollys to big time football programs.

I wish you and Jason nothing but success.

Count me as one of the fans that wanted Jason in the Red and Black. Jason reminds me of a faster Orson Charles. I trust our coaches but I would have really liked to see Jason as part of our class.

Orson is a monster, but I felt he was not used enough. You feel the same?

You have great perspective and insight of msg boards....Great to have you here on board and on the board....It is nice to see recruitment and the process inside out....We are blessed that GA dragged their feet on this one....I hope your family feels the same....

No really. Here's why. Orson is always accounted for by the D whenever he is on the field. Orson was also one of the main reasons why our young WRs had such a good season. It does not show up on the stats but IMO Orson had a great year.

Thank u!

I actually like being on the boards now because there are some many misconceptions regarding this process from a recruit stance.

Yep orson has had a great year. We have talked about him being double teamed for a big part of the year and that has helped our young wideouts be able to beat a number of man coverages. I hope for our sake he does stay, but if not we are just fine at TE and WR. We have done great recruiting those two spots.
