...for 3:30 on CBS. Didn't see this article posted yet, so here it is.

Tennessee set to play four times on CBS & Volunteer TV

Personally, I think this stinks. I really wanted this game at night so Neyland would be in epic form. We need the crowd to be down right nasty for this one. Afternoon games just aren't as intense. Still, it sounds like there is a chance CBS could pick up the Auburn/LSU game instead which would put us in the ESPN night slot.

Thoughts?

It hugely depends on the Vols record. If the Vols come to this game with no losses CBS will almost certainly move it to the night game.

If thats true we're in decent shape. I like our odds of beating UCLA and UAB.

I'd rather be the night game on ESPN than the 3.30 game on CBS. Either way, we're going to have to show up. The fans can't win it for us (obviously).

I really don't think it will matter that much. If the fans mean that much to it, then we're already in trouble. Besides, the fans should be able to get up for the Florida game even if it's a 9:00 AM kickoff.

A home crowd at night is an advantage in the SEC. I'm not saying it would decide the outcome, but it would certainly be a plus, unless its at Vandy.

geez the article says that all of our big games (home and away) are going to be 3:30. I really don't like these 3:30 games!!! I say screw CBS and give us the ESPN night slight.

Unfortunately, I think CBS only does 1 primetime night game a year now. It was almost always UT vs Fla. but now that has been replaced w/ LSU vs. Fla. We are tentively scheduled bc CBS is deciding which game it wants at that point. In one way I want to be on CBS bc we will definitely be undefeated and it will be network, but I also want it to be a night game on ESPN so the crowd will be at it's best.

CBS needs to step up to the plate and announce a weekly 3:30 game and a marquee 8:00 primetime game to compete w/ ABC's Big 11, ACC, PAC 10 crap primetime weekly game. These big SEC games deserve a Primetime stage. CBS needs to give it that.

The SEC had 17 conference games that were played at 5 pm or later. The home team went a collective 9-8 in those games.

I stand by my assertion that 9:00 am, noon, 3:30 or night games don't make the difference everyone wants them to. LSU might be the exception.

There is NO reason why Neyland shouldn't be an exception either... the biggest stadium in the SEC at night should be deadly and hostile to come into, but this isn't a "Be loud a Neyland thread"

CBS can't have a double header that day because they have a double header for UGA/Tennessee and LSU/Florida

I wouldn't care if it wasn't on TV at all, I just want a night game. Much cooler and a much better atmosphere

yeah, I wouldn't want to showcase one of, if not the biggest game of the season to potential recruits.

(Cue Hillbilly to come in and say he wouldn't want our recruits to see us get blown out.)

I understand that, but I am just selfish :) I know it's not the best for the program. But here's a question -- is it better to be on national TV and lose than not be on it all?

That's the key. They scheduled the gator game at 3:30 last year in the Swamp and it was hot as hell. Why can't the tv freaks understand that?
