7. Florida​

Are the Gators really back? Their season-opening 55-0 smashing of Long Island University impressed the panel but only to a certain degree. Even unabashed Florida alum Doering wasn’t completely moved – or maybe he fears being called a homer – as he ranked them 10th, as did Watson. The consensus seems to be that they all need to see more before they completely embrace these Gators.

Lagway was very rusty which makes sense considering he hadn't practiced all summer basically. He got better after the first couple drives. The two most worrying things I personally saw were 1) Napier's play calling, going for so many horizontal, behind the line of scrimmage plays (and not blocking for them at all) against such a pitiful team was classic scared money Napier and 2) we might have an issue at RT. The rest of our line is pretty decent (if not as good as it's hyped up to be) but Lovett struggled against poor competition. Could see him getting picked on in the SEC.
