How come the Gators aren’t allowed to have a full decade of dysfunction like us? They always seem to restock after only a few bad years. Can’t we give them some friendly advice on how to completely destroy their program for a longer period of time?
Pruitt and Butch weren’t available when their openings occurred.

Wow. That seems like a lot of weight to be carrying around. He's approaching Jared Lorenzen type numbers, I think he was listed at 260 at KY.

Their offensive roster is loaded at QB/WR/RB/OL

Their deficient position is TE

Best offensive roster in some time, probably since Mullen’s 2020 team that had Kyle Pitts, Kadarius Toney, Perine, Kyle Trask and some others.

Also agree TE is probably the least elite position group, although Hayden Hanson is a serviceable SEC Tight End (27 career catches, 3 TD’s). He’s solid but not spectacular.

It's interesting to think about what current HS recruits think of Florida right now and what the average memory span is for them.

How many of them even distinctly remember the Mullen era? I guess their incredibly short memories is both a blessing and a curse for programs. The Tebow/Meyer years might as well have happened in the 1980s for a current HS recruit, although it may help a bit that Tebow is still a public figure. 1998 is even more ancient and completely irrelevant to a junior in HS.

With the Vols, Heupel has already been here long enough that HS recruits see Tennessee as HIS program. They remember 2021-2024 and probably not much before that. So to a large degree, we are free from the negative perception that haunted us from 2008-2020.

Interesting point. Related - three of Florida’s most promising young players all had Dad’s who played for Spurrier: DB Ben Hanks Jr, WR Vernell Brown III, LB Myles Graham. Napier is benefiting from the timing of Spurrier’s era.

You’re not the first one to say he (Lagway) is too heavy. He’s not running around fat by any means, but I may be time to lay off the weightlifting. Not built at all like J-Load, more like Tebow/AR. But is all that weightlifting causing some of these soft tissue injuries? You’d think Billy and staff would be smart enough to figure that out.

If that 6' 2" number is correct then it would seem to be about 20 lbs heavy. Be interesting to watch his mobility and late game energy in that Florida heat and humidity.

6’3” 247 is what he’s officially listed at.

Agree, late game energy, stamina, will be something to watch, especially since he hasn’t been full-go in camp. If you can’t go full speed, you can’t replicate game conditions or get into game shape.

Don't the players try to come in heavy at the beginning of the season because they will be losing some of their gains during the season?

I think I heard that the ability to commit so much time to lifting and training is much more limited during the season.
