Florida favored by 8

I hope I'm wrong but I think this is a 27-17 type of Florida win. There is no way we can stop SEC level skill players on the jet sweep with our current situation at MLB. And Kongbo has been absolutely awful up to this point. There is no way he should be starting over Phillips, who has looked good IMO.

I thought you were a Florida fan? Maybe I'm confusing you with someone else

As a die hard Vol fan for many years there is one thing I know...when teams break in new qbs against us they always seem to have record breaking days. Calloway will stretch our secondary. Let's just be honest. Our defense isn't that good. I'm not hating on the kid bc he went to a school here in Chatt but Colton Jumper is too slow on drag routes and will get ate up in SEC play.

Everybody knows that but Shoop and Jones apparently.

I really hope Florida starts talking junk again. I know both Tabor and Wilson are gone but hopefully someone takes their place this week and calls our guys out.

We don't need any motivation. UT fans themselves are providing plenty...steadily berating the defense.

The sharps don't set the line, the oddsmakers do. The sharps can cause the line to move quickly. If the line opened at -8 and already down to -5, the sharps must really like UT to cover easily. That's a lot of movement in a few hours.

Really...rarely see a move that big 2.5 pts. in under a day. A lot of cash came in on UT quick. Expect it to go down more to 2.5-3 by gametime. May have overlooked suspensions or something. I never bet for or against UT.

Betting, especially on sports,is about as smart of an investment as land in Afghanistan. I know absolutely NO ONE that I consider intelligent in the slightest who bets on sports. I'm sure there's a lot here who do but that's just the hard cold fact of it....

Here is how it ends. The score will be 2-0 Tennessee with 5 seconds left and Fla has no timeouts left with the ball at Tenn 5yd line and the clock is running and Butch calls a timeout so Fla can set up for a FG and win 3-2

Put that pipe down youngin!!!

How are they favored by 8 with all of those indefinite suspensions?

I think it's an oversight and not that much money came in on UT before they changed it. They will adjust but some may win big if they took the 8. Don't get me wrong a lot of cash could have came in on UT. I see it opposite as UT should be favored by 3 but I quit betting on UT football long ago.

This game will be a pick em....neither team has shown much. Florida looked awful against what might be a very good Michigan team. Tennessee looked average vs Ga Tech and was very vanilla against The Fighting Larry Birds.

If the venue changes, I say it's advantage UT. They've already played a neutral site and have 2 games under their belt. If it stays in Gainesville, advantage Florida, first home game of the year and coming off a loss in K-Town last year, that place will be rockin! I wish I coulda got in when Tennessee was an 8 point dog.

Per insiders on their forum. All indications are that Callaway and Scarlett may not be seen for quite some time.

This poster is mixing me up. Confusing me by posting"none of their players will be suspended" and following with "callaway and Scarlett may not be seen for quite sometime." The florida poster Jaws says they are all still suspended. I'll just wait until gametime.

Only VolNation can panic after a 42-7 win when we give up only about 215 yds total. After we beat Florida this weekend all will be well in Knoxville.

Nobody is panicking, just sharing their concerns. Those concerns are completely valid given our defensive woes recently.

Those of us who are voicing concern are happy with us being 2-0. We just want our team to perform at a higher level. We also want our Vols to be playing for championships again. There is nothing wrong with that.

I'm not a betting guy. I believe I'm seeing Florida favored by 5.5. Is this correct? Or is UT favored? I was not expecting that much of a spread, even with home field advantage. For those guys that bet, I'm curious what your thoughts are.

Unfortunately Vegas has a history of being right, way more than being wrong.
Apparently they feel that Florida's one game against a top 10 team doesn't mean they suck as bad as we fans believe.
Or they believe we looked exceptionally bad.

Noone has confidence in Tennessee going to the swamp. Im willing to bet the folks on here prediction a win know in the back of their mind that this is a lose. We have a history of making bad offenses look like the NE Patriots. Most people will need to see it to believe that anytjing is different.

Oh and, regardless of his persistence, noone really believes D4H, except maybe nation.

Guys, this ain't how it works. Vegas neither loves nor hates Tennessee. The point spread is established then changed up or down with the SOLE purpose of getting 50% of the money on each team. The end.

Once the book is set, it has less to do with a team's performance than with who, how many and how much people are betting.

It's down to -5 right now on the vegasinsider composite. One casino already has it down to -4.5. Don't be surprised to see it move all the way down to -4 or possibly lower at kickoff.

Uhm....if 50 % is own each team how do they make money? The idea is to get more money on Tennessee and the payout is higher because they dont think Tennessee will cover the spread.
Ive never bet on a game but i think that is how it works. And they didnt build Vegas by being wrong.

My estimation is that they see Tennessee as a soft football team. Thaglt coupled with our bad defense and we are unlikely to beat a tough agressive FL team
