A couple of fla fans at my office were giving me a bunch of stuff on Friday about the app st game -- I will pour it on tomorrow after they barely beat a terrible umass team

I feel really good about the florida game now. If they cannot run, they cannot beat us. Plus Shoops defensive scheme plays well against the passing game. We got it this year.

They really didn't run on us last year and we still lost.

Uh just so we are clear, because skimming through this thread is a little confusing- Florida won by 17 points and only gave up one score. We got lucky as @#%$ to win in overtime. Those games did not feel even remotely the same.

The problem with UF, for us, is they have a good defense no matter what year it is or no matter what goofy coach sits on their sideline.

Thus, they stay in the game until the end when crazy things tend to happen.

Gators beat a team that fired their offensive coordinator last season only to have him come back and light them up in week 1. Kentucky is another level of terrible these first few weeks

I agree. The Florida game does provide good context to see if it's gonna be a special year for the Vols

Forreal real, it's gonna be a battle this year. Florida looks good, we're not looking too sorry ourselves, and I don't see UGA making a huge splash in the East year 1 of CS tenure so that leaves it down to the true "Beasts of the East", UT and UF. Of course, my prediction skills are guaranteed to be as accurate as Ms. Cleo so who really kno?

Uga looked weak, Chubb held to 80 yards. We have to continue to improve if we're to make it through the gauntlet starting in two weeks..
