Florida fans are licking their chops

Floridas offense looked terrible against lowly umass -- their QB was under pressure the whole night -- the vols D will shut them down

Del Rio threw 44 passes and was sacked once, pressured twice. The pass-blocking was as good as UF fans have seen in a few years, the run-blocking however was disappointing.

Fla didn't exactly look good against UMass.....

And Del Rio certainly didn't pick that defense apart....

We won't know anything about our team until the Fla game is over....that's for sure....

Del Rio had an excellent game I thought, 29-44, 256 yards and 2 TD's, with 3 or 4 drops on good throws. And keep in mind he was tossing around a waterlogged football for the first two quarters. Penalties and not finishing drives with TD's was the problem, not Del Rio.

The basic truth is that UT is built around experienced starters. Your ceiling is low.

UF is working with a new QB and still young Oline. There is far more room there for UF to improve over the next several weeks, than for UT.

Those expereinced starters proved last year that they are better than what we saw, and the most likely scenario is that Thursday was an anomaly, most likely due to overlooking a team that was actually better than exxpected.

UF inexperience has proven nothing other than they struggled mightily against a known bottom-dweller (literally).

next, you'll be shouting about a vast Knox-wing conspiracy fueling mock outrage against UF in the media. You are who you are.

The UGA/UT game will decide the SEC east. Florida is down with that bad offense and barely beat a terrible umass team. It may take mcelwain 2-3 years to get that bad offensive line rebuilt, if florida fans keep him around that long.

Given the fact that I find this post ridiculous, it was started before Florida's game. Which makes the outcome even more amazing since they looked horrible against a team that had 3 wins last year.

All I needed to hear was the disappointment in Steve "quasi director of football operations" Spurrier.

I think our boys got the wake up call they needed. Better from App state than VT or Florida.

Welcome aboard.

Just sayin..

If Florida fans could lick their own chops, they would never have anyone in the stadium.

Be too busy at home licking themselves.

Heh, dude, I'm with you on Florida fans sucking.

However...pretty much every animal on the planet that has a tongue can lick their chops. It's not like you have to have double-jointed vertebrae to do it. :)

Uh just so we are clear, because skimming through this thread is a little confusing- Florida won by 17 points and only gave up one score. We got lucky as @#%$ to win in overtime. Those games did not feel even remotely the same.

And Florida would have gotten handled by App. State, worse than UT almost did.

Maybe it would help if you knew what was going on. Floriduh tacked on 2 late TDS to make it look respectable against the worst team in the country.

It went into the 4th Q, 10-7

I watched the entire game, so maybe it would help if you stfu. And how do you know UMASS is the worst team in the country? Because a preseason power ranking told you so? Seriously, how stupid are you?

They're probably better than Buffalo again this year. Buffalo just lost to Albany.

Gator boys ready for the big game in knoxville--they'll be on the strip early, partying hard with natty lite, hoping to score with some local women!

Neither team impressed. Neither look ready to take on legit SEC powers. Both should worry about their next game and put UT/FL on the back burner for now. Lots of work to do for both.

We don't take kindly to level headed responses round these parts.

Remember that not being able to defeat UF in over 10 years is drilled in our players' heads. So all the Gators have to do is show up and they win before the game starts.
