Florida = Cupcake Game

We lost to UK ( I think) when they were out of QBs and had a WR playing QB.
Don't forget the LSU backup soul killer. We have a history with backups. An availability report like that..../.we're gonna get blown off the field.

I remember Fulmer having problems with clock and game management in the big games with close scores. He'd stop running the offense and get way too conservative, and worse, he'd do it way too early.
Same old story. Shut down your offense, the opponent catches up, try to get your offense going again like it was early in the game, and it's cold, and doesn't work. Some coaches never understand that you can't just turn an offense off and back on like that.
Seems familiar

If there is a way to lose this game we will find it. Since we started playing annually in 1990, we are 9-24 and only won twice in Gainesville. Literally 2-15 over a 35 year period. It doesn't make any sense but we've definitely snatched defeat from the jaws of victory down there a few times.

Whether a curse or whatever it is, it's time for this to change. I think we've endured enough, but I won't be comfortable at any point watching this game.

Florida will have no where near the talent on the field that we will have. I'm not sure if Florida has a secondary or a pass rush for Saturday night. Heup and Joey will name their score. We ain't in the Dooley/Butch/Pruitt years anymore friends. We didn't have a 'swamp curse', we had a 'bad coaches curse' that Heup has turned around. No way we come out of Gainesville with less than a 20 point win.
Cupcake game? What are you smoking?

Yeah, but we should’ve won there in 2023 as well. I’m telling you there’s something about it. We will see…

I would also argue that Butch was probably just as good or bad of a coach as Muschamp and McElwain and he only beat Florida once.
Questionable. They had a good bit of talent in 2023 between Pearsal, Etienne, Eugene Wilson on offense and several guys on defense. That, and Milton crapping the bed is why we lost. UF going 5-7 that season is a testament to how poor of a coach Sun Belt Billy actually was (along with having the hardest schedule in the country).

Butch was not any better of a coach than either Muschamp or McElwain. He was equally as bad of a coach as they were. At least Muschamp was guaranteed to have a top tier defense. Butch had zero identity as a coach.

Lagway is playing.
Reference was to the injury list posted above. Bound to be a backup or three that has a coming out party against us Saturday and Lagway will undoubtedly be in the Heisman talk after the game as well.

Fess up. You know it's coming.

Fulmer wasn’t as good a coach as Spurrier or Meyer. That’s why he had trouble beating them.

He was a better coach than Ron Zook. That’s why he went 2-1 against him.

It really is a matter of the coach/team being better that determines outcomes, not logos or team names.

This x 1000. This "curse" idiocy is nothing but a coping mechanism, the same as the stupid bereavement thing, for fans who enjoy wallowing in self pity.

Florida never owned us, they simply had superior coaches and/or talent for those two decades. That has changed now, as we'll see on Saturday night.

None of the obvious storylines matter, as all bets are off when we play at their place. It will take a much better performance than we have seen recently to beat them there.

Given our injury report and general malaise over the program, I don’t need my 0-12 schtick to predict a UT win in our house this weekend.
Which ones are new and which are just season long injuries? Ours will likely list someone like Rickey Gibson but he's been out since game 1

Dude! Did you just get on this bus? Stop counting chickens before they hatch. They have snatched victory from the mouth of defeat on us over and over. Best to stay quiet and wait for the results. But, I hope you're right.

The biggest example of clock and game management failure by Fulmer, for me, will always be the "Hobnail boot" game.

I guess we can end the McCoy returning speculation, he is out again this week. Good news is their 2 best receivers are out. Their big RB will be playing, he is a heavy load to bring down. He may run for 200 yards.

What's the number? 20+ years? Think we're kinda past the law of averages in this one. We're well into the Twilight Zone/supernatural at this point.
Citing the number of years, at least to me, is a bit dramatic. People do it all the time, though. It is particularly useful by media heads to create additional drama. For example, if we win this weekend, the next time we play in the swap, we can say we haven't lost a game in the swamp in 6 years. We have lost 10 consecutive games down there. That's bad enough. Time to end it.

HAVE YOU LOST YOUR FRIGGIN MIND!!!?? Who ever replaces the downed players will look and play like all Americans against us. This will be a tough game that we will be lucky to win.
