I'm not a super optimistic when it comes to the conference opener. Florida is a talented football team but so is Tennessee. We may be young and lack in depth but Florida is sort of in the same boat in that department. If you wanna be a NegaVol then please do not comment, there is no room here for so called "Vol Faithful" that want to continue to bad mouth our team and call for Simms head and complain and whine like little three year olds. This season isn't over yet and who the hell knows, as crazy as this season as been, anything can happen.
Coach Derek Dooley called out the players and called out the staff about staying mentally tough and carrying the fight the whole way. I see a bright future coming the rest of this season, as well as for this week's game. The players have to learn to stay jacked for all sixty minutes.
Look at what Tennessee did against Oregon, they came out, they hit them in mouth and were beating up the number seven team in the nation and then they quit. I believe the lesson will be learned this week in practice and they will come out swinging, only this time, not to quit. Florida on the other hand has not really been "picking it up" until late game situations or after the first half whistle. They've had continuous problems with Pouncey getting the snap off to Brantley, receivers dropping balls and well, getting played fairly well by two under the radar teams. If the Vols can come out and put extreme pressure on Florida to start off Saturday, we could see them up 14 or 21-0. Pressure Pouncey up front, cause him to make mistakes. Put a blanket over the receivers, make a young, inexperienced Brantley run for his life. The main key to slowing down their offense is going to be putting the brakes on Demps which I believe the Big Orange D can handle that task.
Tennessee will bring all they got this game, and they'll leave it all out on the field. Look for a new mentally tough team to come roaring out of the tunnel Saturday and ready to turn the college football world upside down with an upset. The Gators better be ready for a fight and better not think for one second that they are going to waltz into Neyland and put a blowout up.
