“The 4th Quarter” hasn’t been too kind to us against UF over the years.

The Vols beat Frank's last year, didn't they?
No Frank's had a tad bit better command of the offense last year and a run game to help him out tremendously. Frank's is over thinking and waiting too long to throw. He looked like Matt Simms today. He was picked off on a play that was wide open, threw it two seconds after it was wide open. Also, he beat us because our PE coach didn't know what prevent defense is....

I think UF is probably as bad as we are. It's a toss up game. I will be there screaming til I'm hoarse and hoping we can pull it out, but I wouldn't bet a dime on the outcome either way.

I just find it ironic that even when UF sucks we find a way to suck even more...Just blows my mind...For years we have waited for UF to start sucking again and when it happens we out do you guys in suckage.....Dammit
This. We have had Florida on the ropes the past 4 years only to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory 3 of the 4 years. I'm hoping it was just the " Butch" factor and that this season we break the string because of competent coaching.

Start fast and jump up by 2 scored and UF will fold. But that’s the problem. Start fast lol. We can’t do that

Crazy to think we should easily be on a 4 game winning streak vs them.

I'd say the game with Florida comes down to who makes the least mistakes. If we fumble and get penalties like today we'll certainly lose. I'll wait to see how practice goes this week. Pruitt said we were not into practice last week not getting the job done and we made a lot of mistakes against ElPaso. They were at no time a danger to beating us they had no offense but still we played terrible. Sometimes it is better to come off a bad performance like this as it could make the team more focused against Florida.

CSU lost to Hawaii... they aren’t good. Also check Felipe Frank’s stats.

Can we play the game before we call it a loss?

Franks stats are actually pretty good. 9 TD passes against 2 picks. Franks had 0 TD passes headed into the UT game last year, and he ended the season last year with 9 total TD passes. So he’s matched his total from last year in just 3 games. He needs to improve on his completion percentage at 53%, but he’s throwing for just short of 200 yards per game. He’s made dozens of throws this year that he could not make last year. I’m not saying he’s the next Rex Grossman but there is no question Franks is a better QB this year than last year.

Overall, Florida is an average football team right now. They can be exposed at safety, LB play is average with David Reese out, o-line play is inconsistent. UT can certainly beat Florida by exposing these areas.

Having said that, I watched most of the UT-West Virginia game and the first half of the UTEP game. The best units on both UT and UF’s teams so far are Florida’s special teams. That’s the one area where I see vast improvement for Florida. Amazing stat: UF has blocked 4 kicks already this year, they blocked 3 total for McElwain’s entire tenure. UF has found a major playmaker at punt returner in Freddie Swain and once again UF has a solid placekicker in McPherson. That’s the one area on either team where the units look elite.

FloriDUHHH got the W simply because they played a VERY bad team that made several huge mistakes.

Gators should have had at least 2 more easy TDs but only got 2 FGs, LOL!

Our Vols still have far too much Butchitis mentally so they play down to the competition and still don't believe in themselves and their Team.

Overcoming mental inconsistencies and the losing culture is always 1 of the toughest things to get changed and it oftentimes it tales longer than most people understand.

If you just looked at the 2 scores you think, OMG, our Vols are going to get stomped.

If you watched both games and looked at the team floriDUHHH played and see that thay couldn't even play against a horrid Hawaii team then you start to understand that we're better than most would think.

We have a solid group of RBs and we'll rotate them to keep them fresh and powerful.

We have a good group of WR's and TE"s and JG can hit his targets with just a little time to make his throws.

It's also amazing that JG has NOT even had 1 turnover in 3 full games.

Our young D players as showing some progress at getting better every week as many of us have expected.

As long as our O line can improve just a little more this week then I believe we have a legit shot at getting the WIN over the floriDUHHH Gators.

Never lose faith my friends, pack Neyland and keep that place LOUD and help the Gator O make more mistakes because fans CAN help get WINS, that's the homefield advantage.

ROCK Neyland and beat floriDUHHH!!!

VFL...GBO!!!

Florida blew it open on big plays and turnovers. They do have more speed than Tennessee but I’d take JG over Franks despite his huge arm. Both OLs suck.

So because UF had a punt block TD and punt return TD, and created a bunch of turnovers, their win is less impressive? Interesting, that usually makes a team win more impressive, but ok.

I’m not one of the UF fans who thinks Franks has been this God-awful QB this year. He has been worlds better than last year and any Gator fan who doesn’t see this is still salty from his crap play last year. He’s better in EVERY area this year and stats bear that out; more passing yards, more rushing yards, more completions, looking off receivers, and the big stat; 9 TD passes this year going into UT game versus ZERO last year. Does he still make mistake? Yes, absolutely. He’s still late at times, he still misses some throws, but he’s not the same Franks as last year who literally had to heave the ball somewhere and hope someone came down with it.

If the Gators beat Colorado St 48-10

Do you think they will beat the Vols even worse?

Do the Vols somehow make the game close?

I have my thoughts, what are yours?

Get ready VN
Get ready

Facts:
CSU is almost dead last in total defense

Florida had two special teams scores and one defensive score that made 48-10 look worse than it is

Florida has A LOT of problems on offense and defense

Opinions:
This will be a very close game

Florida is no better than Tennessee

I don’t get this thing of minimizing UF’s win because they had all this special teams success. The special teams success is precisely why I think UF is much-improved versus last year. 33% of the game is special teams.

I know UF has issues, I also know they’re being coached better than they have been in years. I like where we’re headed.

I agree, UF - UT will be close, probably similar to last year.

Another unbelievable (and probably meaningless) stat. In the last 3 seasons combimed, UF has wins of 30 or more points only twice. Mullen has already matched that in theee games as a head coach. UF has SUCKED! And yes, in many areas they still do, but Mullen ain’t McElwain.

That’s true, McElwain didn’t lose to Kentucky.

I only see 1 more win on our schedule. Before the season started I figured WV was a toss up. UF, KY, VANDY, SC, and Missouri were all wins. And now it looks like they will all beat us by double digits

Colorado State completely outplayed them. 2 or more turnovers, 2 blocked punts (one for a TD), punt return touchdown with like 3 missed block in the backs was the difference. Florida probably would have still won, but certainly not the score it was.

We've both beaten two cupcakes.

We've both lost to the only "real" team we've played.

Both teams have issues on the o line.

Neither team is super confident in their front 7's.

Both teams feel good about their RBs and WRs.

Both teams think they're qb has Improved.

Both teams have 1 St year coaches that are supposed experts on their respective sides of the ball.

And y'all are gonna predict with any accuracy which team is better?

Good luck.

I'll take TN In a close one cause we're at home and I think we'll make fewer mistakes than FL.
I think all in all it'll probably be pretty ugly and both defenses will have opportunities to affect the outcome.
