Don't they have enough cupcakes on the schedule at the beginning of the season? I understand the SEC schedule is tough, but this game if the oddsmakers are right will be over at halftime.

I wish we were playing somebody at least in the UCF/USF genre. It is embarrassing to have this kind of opponent so late in the season. We'll get made fun of over the weekend, but then we play FSU who, even though they suck still have some name recognition, and then Alabama.

Are you actually worried about that?

You would think with Charleston Southern, Troy, and then Tennessee there wouldn't be any more cupcakes on the schedule. :whistling:

Interesting parallel between florida and texas. Both powerhouse programs with endless in-state talent and a lot of recent success. Neither has a prominent out of conference opponent, although FSU almost qualifies. They don't need big OOC games for recruiting, so why risk the possible upset?

This would be fine if we had a playoff... but since we don't, teams like texas - with the benefit of a weak conference schedule - end up with a embarassingly easy cupcake schedule and yellow brick road to the national title game.

If Florida doesn't cover the spread, they can always say that they had the flu:whistling:

The oh so famous "next year".. Never gets old seeing the high hopes.
Florida may be the only program stupid enough to think their success is permanent. That's because they only started playing competitive football in the 1990's.

If anything I'm looking forward to the future. While yall are rebuilding, we are just reloading. The false bravado that Florida will fall off the radar once tebow leaves makes it even more enjoyable for us gators.n

The false hope that Florida won't have down years will make it more fun for UT and Alabama.

i'll take fiu and the points.

FIU couldn't cover 45 pts.

Fiu > wku

Not by much.

Florida used to have a tough game with FSU at the end of the year but not anymore.

I don't see us struggling to go .500 anytime soon. Either way it's been a phenomenal run over the last two decades.
We didn't see it coming in 2005. Stuff like that happens. It can happen to traditionally great programs and it can happen to Florida.
