Yes, I do think Tennessee will lose this game despite what I have said all along that we will upset Florida. Now baring some impeccable turnaround I just don't see the Vols winning. That being said, the defense is sick. I do NOT think that Florida will have an answer for Tennessee's defense and they will struggle all day...

Thoughts about the defense keeping us in this game??

agreed, unless St. Timmy raises his hands and tries to part the orange sea, then he gets jacked

They will early, but are bound to get worn out.

UT will not score 17 points. It'll be 40-ish to zippo. The D will play strong early on, but we don't have enough horses up front to last 60 minutes in the swamp on a hot afternoon.

i think we have a good defense but not great. if the offense cant do any better than what it did against ucla then we are in for a long saturday. the best defenses get worn down after to much time on the field. which is what i think we will see against Florida. I for one see the game being very similar to last years.

IF we get QB play like we did Saturday our offense will be lucky to get the ball passed the 50. I say 56-6 Florida, Meyer is going to do everything he can to run the score up.

Tennessee needs to hope for a Florida repeat performance against Troy where they put the ball on the ground 6 times and lost 3 of them.

Exactly who is going to score those 17 points. Urban is no idiot, he will load up the box, stuff the run and dare us to throw it. The only way we score 17 is if the defense scores at least one touchdown and creates 3 to 4 turnovers. Even then 17 is a stretch.

I think the only way Florida puts up 30+ on us is with a plethora of turnovers in our own territory, which is not beyond imagination. TO's will make this game a blowout. If we protect the ball, the score will be at the least respectable.

So we'll only lose by 24? :p

They looked tired in the 3rd quarter against UCLA. A couple of decent offensive drives in the 4th quarter gave them a second wind. I am afraid it is going to be a long day for them.

Let's see...huh...17 points ummm...Defense scores 2 touchdowns, scores 2 safeties, and Lincoln misses an extra point? :)

As long as Fla throws away from Berry, they will feast on the passing game all day. Not as close a game as we would like. Vols lose by >21....actually in the 30s.

I look for UT to show up ready to play. I look for Crompton to have a great game and make everyone forget the UCLA fiasco. And I look for the Defense to shut down Tebow and the Gators. And I look for UT to win a close game.

And I'm still looking for Santa Claus to bring me tickets for the game.

Seriously, better days for us in this rivalry are ahead. It will take time to fully replenish the cupboard. Top 10 recruiting class last year and safely in the Top 10 this year. Yes, so was/is Florida, but we gaining on them in terms of talent one recruit at a time. I see us being much more evenly matched in future seasons.

Down here in Jax, it is a challenge to get it through the heads of the Gators that we are not a "5-7 program." People here seem to think Vol fans have an incorrect perception of our program. Well, my answer is that it's apparent that high school talent is viewing us as a Top 10 program. We will be back.

All I really want from this game is to see EB totally bring the wood and lay out Timmy Tebow (not unlike what he did to Knowshon, who I have heard still shudders everytime he hears EB's name on CFB Live...)That way the world sees what we already know... That our best player is better than their best player.

They were tired in the 3rd Quarter, because our glaring lack of a remotely average QB was carrying over and killing the defense's momentum.

We saw what the defense was capable of in the 4th Quarter - when they actually got to play with momentum.

You've got to be crazy to think we gave up 19 to UCLA but will only give up 21 to UF... and put up 17 points against UF while only scoring 15 against UCLA.

UF >>>>> UCLA on both sides of the ball. It'll take luck and at least decent QB play to keep the game within 21 points.
