Flop montage

I made a comment around halftime of game thread towards those blaming the outcome of players flopping. However, it was beyond comical during the second half as their players dropped to the ground every third play during each possession.

WhT sad as soon as a player flopped. Kiffen has subs right there going in. Its was a sham.
Of course it was. The real question though is: was it cheating? I say that it wasn't. It might be unethical.. maybe... but hardly cheating. If it were, why didn't the refs do anything about it? Now I just hope that the dickless SEC executives see the reality of it and change a rule... like is being discussed throughout the forums, but I can't hate Kiffin for exploiting it. Actually, he found an interesting way to slow us down, and I gotta chalk that up to good coaching. I hope CJH uses those 'injury' time outs to our advantage sometime when we have no real time outs left and need a break. Seems like a smart thing to me.

It's not cheating. It's just cheap. And cowardly. They're just taking advantage of a flawed system.

It makes for boring football and the rules need changing.

We all know they flopped. Out of all those players not a single one cramped up DURING a play. Their cramps just magically hit them after we got any sort of momentum or first down. Or when we were getting in a groove with our fast uptempo.

If nothing gets changed then everyone is going to start doing it and games will now drag on an extra hour or even two hours. It's not good for football.

It isn’t cheating per se, it’s a strategy.

Could they institute a rule to prevent the coaching staff from meeting with the non-injured players to discuss strategy during the injury timeout?

Or a rule where the only sub allowed is one for the injured player as long as the offense doesn’t sub?

Any of you skilled youtube editors able to do a quick montage from last night's flop fest? It would be a pretty enlightening/funny video of flop after flop set to something like the Viennese Waltz.

Best idea you've had. I love it.

It is cheating. It's actually against the rules. It's unsportsmanlike conduct for a defensive player to use words or acts to disrupt the snap. Faking an injury falls under this rule according to everything I've read.

I’d like for someone to count how many times an ole miss player stopped the game laying on the ground. Had to at least be 10 times.

The bad thing about flopping is that it casts suspicions upon those who actually get hurt. At the end of the game is one thing. All game long is an entirely different matter. Unfortunately, the fans' behavior at the end of the game will lessen the likelihood that proper attention will be given to the matter

The only way to fix this is to make a player who goes down ineligible for the rest of that series. Every team is using a medical tent now. Have the player wait in the tent or treatment area until the end of the series. If you need that player, you can alternatively use a time out if any are available.

Refs can’t do anything about it right now. Only if there is a rule change that makes it where the player has to sit out a series if he goes down. If the player is truly injured, that would protect the player.

The absolute best flop is the Ole Miss defensive lineman that switched which leg was injured once he flipped on his back. He grabbed his left leg when he was on his stomach and then switched to his right when he was on his back. Lol!

Surely someone has the game recorded and can string them all together. Even if all your seeing is the after shot, the sheer number would be impressive to post and be seen. Give the outside world a quick way to see what actually happened.

Its called a loophole. Its technically cheating. When u lie bout something all in all its cheating. There’s just no rules bout it

Saban went nuts over the quick tempo offenses in which he could not substitute on defense. It is not cheating but taking advantage of current rules or lack thereof. It should have given the Vols more time to scheme a decent play instead of handing off to Jabari Small on second and 17. Anyway that was an exciting football game that will be long remembered. Great crowd and it went down to the final play. Sure the Vols would like to have several plays back and receive credit for the scoop touchdown they earned, but the team gave it all they had against a ranked team with a superstar qb. I enjoyed the game actually.
